        Comments about Lodgepole Shafting:

these are good shafts they were not real straight but were easy to straighten and stayed straight all weighed and spined very closely. they are not a real tough shaft but considering the beating i gave them they held up pretty well.

          Comments about Lodgepole Shafting:

Thses shafts were the first wood arrows i have ever built and man oh man am i impressed. The smooth finish of the raw shaft to the straightness of each shaft.A little bend here and there, but that is to be expected in wood,to the best of my knowledge. These arrows, what little staightening needed to be done was fast and simple and they seem to be holding there own now and i just hand straightened them after eyeballing the shaft and spin testing them.I cut them at 27 inches with a 125 grain field point,5 inch sheild cut feathers, classic nocks, stain and a water based finsh. The total arrow weight came out to average 475.Just about the weight i'm looking for come deer season.

          Comments about Lodgepole Shafting:

I ordered 50-55lb spine. When I got them, they spined out to a 65 lb average. The grain is not straight and shafts were crooked. Pretty disapointed but, I will make due with what I got.

          Comments about Lodgepole Shafting:

Just built a set of arrows in 65-70# 11/32" these. They were very straight, only minor bending needed. They stain okay (using black water based stain) but the larger graining resists it to some degree. Did a distressed stain by repeatedly staining the shafts and then just before they were totally dry wiping them off with an alcohol soaked rag. Made a very pretty finish, the grain really pops out. They are a bit heavier than my POC shafts I started shooting with, and seem more durable in general.

            Comments about Lodgepole Shafting:

I bought these shafts because I like shooting wood arrows and building my own. The problem I had was I have a 30" draw and I needed a stiff spine on my shafts. These shafts fit the bill for both. They stained very well and the are pretty tough. They don't break easily. I will buy more, good shaft.
