Having to fill an order for 8 dozen arrows I certainly did not want to rely on a single fletching jig. I bought the Jo-Jan multi fletcher right helical and am very happy with it. The nock receivers have a ball detent index and with a flip can fletch 3-120 and 4-90 arrows. The adjustment to set the jig for right, straight or left helical is somewhat rudimentary but for the budding arrow builder it does the trick.I am using fletching tape to glue the feathers on my arrows so I cannot comment on the holding power of the clamps and will not speculate on it. For my current use it is a veritable time saver. It could use some finer adjustments but the price tag makes it very good value for the money.

This is a wonderful fletcher if you have store bought feathers or vanes. I how ever do not use these.. I cut and splice my own turkey feathers. This always leaves an inconsistent mating edge. With my other fletcher I simply use theclamp tohold the feather as I sand down the edge. The clamps on the jo jan do not grip well enough to do it this way. I have since found away using a belt sander to sand the edge down. But I still have to fill in gaps where the feather was misaligned. I am only recommending this for people who use vanes or store bought feathers.

Comments about JoJan Multi-Fletcher Fletching Jig:

I have fletched neaarly a thousand arrows using Jo Jan fletchers, both straight and helical. I have never run into a problem using either style.
I make a mark with either a felt tip pen or a small file on each clamp to mark where I want the back of the feather to set on the shaft. To glue the feather onto the shaft,I put the feather in the clamp leaving a small space between the clamp and the base of the feather. That way I avoid the gaps that others have complained about. As I set the clamp in place, I apply a small amount of presure the the clamp and any voids disappear. After the glue has set on all three (or four) feathers I take the arrow out of the jig and put a small dab of glue to the leading edge and trailing edge of the feather. 6 arrows done. It takes longer to tell about it than it does to do it.

Comments about JoJan Multi-Fletcher Fletching Jig:

Found it to be well made but inaccurate. Six arrows side by side and every feather had a different curve to it. The center two were the closest to perfect. At least two of every six did not make good glue contact and had to be redone. After 4 dozen fletched, I'll not use it again. I get better results and fletch faster with 3 Bohning jigs.

Comments about JoJan Multi-Fletcher Fletching Jig:

I think the jig is well made with plenty of adjustment range. I was able to fletch small diameter carbon and large diameter aluminum arrows with a left hand spiral feather. It's not automatic. You have to watch what happens when you make adjustments. Some may see this as complicated. Others will see it as flexible.

Comments about JoJan Multi-Fletcher Fletching Jig:

Having two jigs on hand I am able to have all my fletching exactely the way my bow wants and accuracy is the No1 priority in my hunting and competive rewards. I use helical for my hunting and straight for all my competitions ABA and 3D. The Jo Jan Multi-Fletcher Fletching Jig is very adaptable in that I can tweek my fletching to give me the accuracy that I look for with dependability as well. At age 60 I need all the good gear to make all my archery shoots/hunting both enjoyable and rewarding.

Comments about JoJan Multi-Fletcher Fletching Jig:

I have the left helical version and use it to fletch 11/32" cedar shafts with 5 and 1/2" parabolic cut truflights. If I use Bohning Classic nocks on my shafts I've found the nocks can't stay centered on the nock bar and the base of the feather is not pressed flat to the shaft. Indeed the rear 3/4" of the fletch doesn't come into contact with the shaft at all! I use the Bohning fletching tape so using a fine needle to push the rear end of the fletch down out of the clamp and onto the shaft overcomes this annoying problem. Then remove the clamp, run my finger tips down both sides of the fletchings base to thoroughly seat it on the shaft and apply a drop of Ducco contact adhesive at each end to reinforce the attachment there. The finish is not as good as that on the 3R Hunters I've purchased but I prefer the spin imparted by the LH Jo Jan jig and longer parabolics. It takes me about 1 and 1/2 hours to fletch a dozen shafts using the Jo Jan and though the jig has the issues described above I love the results.

Comments about JoJan Multi-Fletcher Fletching Jig:

After purchasing and using both the "Bitzenburger Dial-O-Fletch" and the "Jo-Jan Multi Fletcher", I have reached a clear differentiation between the two.
              FACT: Jo-Jan fletches 6 to Bitzenburger's 1.
Important if you don't have the luxury of time (like most of us do).
              Bitzenburger retails for $85, three-quarters the price of Jo-Jan at $110, six times $85 = $510.
              Now for the design.
Why would you need a magnet to ensure uniform placement of all feathers?
We are talking about a feather right?
I found the magnet to be a hindrance, in that it did take control, but it did not ensure uniform placement.
If you inadvertently use too much glue on the fletch, the Bitzenburger design sends it into the nock dial. Since I make efforts to minimize glue, I could see this happening to others.
I found the spring strength of the Bitzenburger clamp to be so strong that it makes the job laborious.
The Jo-Jan produces fletched arrows with as much, if not more precision than the Bitzenburger.
In the end, the very simple design of the Jo-Jan, makes for an uncomplicated, low effort session that is more enjoyable and not as tedious as the Bitzenburger.

Very inconsistent results, hard to adjust and to keep the feather base fully on the shaft. Nocking system allows the shaft to move slightly resulting in feathers not lining up. Seems to be worst on feathers which have been ground and cut on a chopper. I generally have to repair or reset the fletching on 2 of every 6 shafts I fletch - not an easy thing to do!

In the workshop on arrow-making, we used one of these jigs, so naturally when I bought one for myself, I went for the same. Being able to work on six arrows at once is a great time-saver, and I cannot fault the quality of the jig, or the results I get from it.
