The Little Choppers are best used with a rubber mallet, and while wearing ear protectiom. While I can't get the consistent cuts obtained by buying pre cut fletching, the chopper does produce acceptable fletching for most shooters and shooting activities except, perhaps, those engaged in very high level competition. NOTE: In my Opinion, if you want feathers longer than 4", you will not experience enough of a savings to warrant the extra time and work involved in chopping, as you will not be able to get two fletches out of most of the full length feathers.

      First off let me say that the first thing I did was modify the base plate so that I could cut 5" bananas, the chopper was set up for 5.5" and with a little modifying I was able to get the length and height I was looking for. After cutting three feathers it was clear that some other modifications needed to be made. I replaced all the hardware, they used #8 screws that stripped out the wood base right of of the box so I replaced with #10's and they seem to be holding fine. Also I noticed that trimming the end of the quill at a 45 degree angle is required before I chop otherwise the blade want to push the feather under the feather guide and give and inconsistent cut. Wouldn't recommend however you cant beat the price for as little work I had to put into it. No love loss for 3Rivers archery

          For about 8 or 9 feathers worked wonderfully, had my daughter helping me, she wanted to hit the chopper with the mallet. Turns out with her not hitting very hard she bent the blade on a quill. I love the pattern and the initial cuts were great. But not impressed with durability. Will try once more

                Cheaper than a burner. A little awkward to get feather in position and hold it there in prep for a cut, but not a real problem. I'm wondering how well it will cut long term (will it dull quickly?). Time will tell. At any rate, I'm not tempted to return it or buy a burner. In fact, I may order another. Try it. You'll like it.

                I like the Little Chopper concept, but the blades bent before I could cut feathers for two dozen arrows. I followed the directions completely, so I was not too happy about the damage to the chopper so soon. I am going to purchase another one with a different shape cut to see if this one was just a fluke.

                    As far as chopping feathers it works great, but i didn't even make it though my fist set of feathers and the screws came out of the base and then it didn't work very good at all. As long as you are mechanically inclined and can make a new base plate that hold up to hitting it with a hammer numerous times it will work just fine
