The heads fly good and I get very good penetration into the target. The factory grind is off so bad on some of the heads that 1 side is deeply ground and the other has no grind at all. I couldn't get them sharp, I bought all the sharping tools recommended and followed thier sharpening instructions. I can't comment on how they work on animals because I couldn't get them sharp enough to take hunting. I placed another order shortly after I received my heads and asked the fellow on the phone about the heads and he told me they had some grind issues at factory but they are taken care of now. He told me how to sharpen them which was the exact way I was already doing it.
I'm very disappointed with these heads and I will never buy them again.

    Comments about Woodsman Broadheads 150gr & 125gr Screw-In:

OMG!!!! Got my 135gr Woodsmans yesterday. Went out early this morn and took out a 160# Ferrell with one shot. Shattered the shoulder blade, pierced the heart and lungs and broke a rib before stopping just short of a full exit. I have never seen anything like it. Will now be my broadhead of choice.

      Comments about Woodsman Broadheads 150gr & 125gr Screw-In:

Relatively easy to sharpen with a file. Shaved hair without any trouble. Did not come super sharp, but I expected to sharpen them anyway. They spin great. I stood where I could hear them while my sons shot (I was behind protection) and they didn't sound any different than their field points. Have had them out hunting, but have taken no shots, but am confident that I will not be dissappointed.

        Comments about Woodsman Broadheads 150gr & 125gr Screw-In:

I have been looking forward to getting a set of Woodsman Broadheads for a long time. It's all my favorite brodhead designs and materials in one place. A 3:1 ratio 3-bladed carbon steel head is what I would design if someone put me in charge of things. Unfortunately, my experience with these has been a major bummer.

The set I got has a really, really awful grind job. The bevels either barely exist and/or are grossly asymmetric. Whatever you're imagining, it's probably worse. As a result, the broadheads I recieved won't take any sort of edge.

I've been using the sharpening methods described on this page. I'm sure they wold work if these broadheads were constructed like a cutting implement, with material tapering to a point. I was told that the broadheads are sharpened two blades at time at the factory, in a method similar to what you see in the video. If that really is the case, I don't know how they managed to mismatch the grind job on the two sides that would have been in contact with the grinder at once.

It's also worth mentioning that the tip of a Woodsman broadhead bends at a harsh word. I bent one way out of whack shooting a block target at 20 yards with a 35 lb. recurve. I sincerely wish that was a joke or some sort of hyperbole. I'm sorry.

I'm really regretting that I bought these. I live in the middle of nowhere and don't have an address. I wasted five days of archery season waiting for some better made broadheads to come to the PO box. It would have delayed me even longer to wait until I had time off from work to drive the four hour round trip to a sporting goods store.

Anyways, these are really, truly awful. I desperately want to like them, but I honestly believe the set I recieved wouldn't be ethical to use on any animal. I think I probably got a pack of lemons, you could be more lucky. But I will never buy another Wensel product.

        Service and delivery comments:

I called 3Rivers Customer Service to ask what the deal was with these. The fella I talked to was nice enough, but didn't seem to believe that the grind job could be as bad as it is. All he could do was describe the youtube video on sharpening that we have all seen a dozen times.

I definitely lost some faith in 3Rivers over this. They put a lot of energy into hyping the Woodsman, but I don't think it's fair to sell them with the occasional pack of duds being a very real possibility.

        Comments about Woodsman Broadheads 150gr & 125gr Screw-In:

I was the last member of the Karch family to switch to the Woodsman broadhead; why because I track every deer shot on the family farm and after seeing what type of blood trails they leave and recovering animal that should have never been recovered I had to give the elites a try and have not left the Woodsman line since. These broadheads are taken out of the new production of Woodsman and have the quality 3Rivers expects and preformed better than expectations when an deflection sent a arrow in a whitetail buck's spine and a second follow up shot though the shoulder blade clipped bottom of heart and went though brisket taking chunk of bone but not making it though the skin( can ask only so much). Curling within reason and no structual damage with a 51# Recurve.

An expert is a dip under pressure!!! I've been shooting since 1965 with recurve bows and compounds. These broadhead fly extremely good and true, are easy to sharpen and resharpen on stone or with a file and preform like a broadhead should. Bow hunting is the best passion anyone can have, it is a lifetime habit, every one should try these and never go back.

                  Comments about Woodsman Broadheads 150gr & 125gr Screw-In:

These broadheads do not perform as advertised. They come butter knife dull from the factory and do not sharpen well. They seem to go dull sitting in the quiver and achieving razor sharp qualities is almost impossible. The last two animals taken with these broadheads produced little or no blood trails (both well placed arrows) and did not provide pass throughs. I am shooting a 60lb longbow. The points bend easily, even when target shooting. These broadheads will work, but you can definately buy better

I hunt goats, pigs, deer, bufillo with this broadhead and have never had drama. The solid construction means they can take punishment and being able to re-sharpen them is a big plus for me. After using woodsman now for some years I have not found a fault, infact I have introduced three of my hunting partners to them and they now use nothing else. I recomend them to any hunter for all game.
