Cons

  • The Glue Used For The Ada

Comments about Zwickey Delta 4-Blade Broadheads Screw-in:

The glue used for the adapters must be super glue because THE GLUE DID NOT HOLD THRU THE SHARPENING PROCESS which was a short piece of arrow shaft mounted to a wooden rod , with the rod then clamped to a wood shelf.I will have to remount them with epoxy to get them to hold.

Comments about Zwickey Delta 4-Blade Broadheads Screw-in:

I hunt northeastern whitetail with a Fred Bear 49# recurve from circa 1930, these broadheads: although they took a little time to sharpen, proved very effective on my deer this past fall including a hefty buck weighing about 175 lbs, shot at 22 yards. My bow is not a super strong weapon but the arrow penetrated the first side, heart, both lungs and went almost through the 2nd side. the heads penetration worked exceptionally well for me, and i would bet they would preform equally well for you. just make sure to sharpen the "bleeder blades" as they came almost round out of the package. best of luck! -Tom

Comments about Zwickey Delta 4-Blade Broadheads Screw-in:

These are not the Zwickey quality I remember. The broad heads did not come "razor" sharp as advertised and are almost impossible to sharpen. I have been bow hunting for 20 years. I started when I was twelve in Montana. My first bow was a Fred Bear re-curve I don't remember what model. I hunted with wooden shafts and Zwickey Black diamond broad heads. I remember the broad heads when my father gave them too me being so sharp that he could shave his arm hair with them. At eighteen I started hunting with a compound bow and used replaceable blade muzzys. I have since gone back to using a re-curve, and ordered myself a pack of Zwickey delta four blades. I am mostly disappointed in the sharpness. They came nearly dull and took two hours each to get razor sharp. I had to bend the bleeders down to get a good edge and the right angle. they did after some work produce razor edges that I can shave with. I plan to hunt with them this fall but I will most likely try them out on predators before I use them to hunt elk. I would recommend the Delta four blade to any hunter that doesn't mind putting a few hours into their broad heads, But out of the box they are ineffective at best.

Comments about Zwickey Delta 4-Blade Broadheads Screw-in:

I have been hunting on 5 continents for the last 56 years, watching the sport of archery grow ever more advertised, hyped and commercialized, with profound regret.

Using a 35 year old, 110 lb. four wheel Jennings compound (because being 6'6" caused recurves to break about one per month with a 34" draw), I have shot even very large game with the Zwickey Black Diamond 4-blade Delta modified such that the sharp tip is rounded and everything truly razor sharp. These broadheads have cut the rib of a large moose in half and proceeded through to cut through and break the off shoulder, continuing out, without damage to the broadhead except for dulling from large bone penetration. No folding or other nonsense design would or could possibly hold together. Such is only one of a great many, including a host of Animals taken in Africa.

I have tried a great many broadheads, and some work okay if no large bones are hit, but only this broadhead allows one to intentionally shoot for such bones and thereby prevent a long tracking session.

New is NOT better. As Neitzsche stated so perfectly: "Any lie, however outrageous, if repeated often enough, will be believed by the masses." Such is surely the case with all of this quasi-rifle type of pseudo-Archery.
