Comments about Primitive Horn/Bone Arrow Nocks:

I use the horn nocks (both large and small, depending on the shaft). I've heard of other sellers hawking "horn nocks" that are really just molded resin with powdered horn added, but these are definitely the real thing. They have the correct grain direction of true buffalo horn, with the occasional light-brown streak. They withstand robin-hood strikes far better than even reinforced self-nocks.

I've successfully fit these in bamboo shafts, and with a little careful work, I've drilled out cedar shafts to accept these nocks as well. The key in the latter case is to start with a carefully-placed 1mm pilot hole and work up from there to get the correct hole size--trying to immediately drill a 9/32" or higher hole in solid cedar is very likely to cause a grain split.

Note that for heavier bows that take a 14-strand or higher bowstring, you'll almost certainly need to file out the mouth of the nock to fit the string. This is perfectly normal. Also note that each nock has a fair amount of variance in the exact shape/size of the insert, so for best results, you'll have to custom-fit each nock to a specific shaft and be careful not to interchange them.

Comments about Primitive Horn/Bone Arrow Nocks:

These nocks looked good, but they break easily. I couldn't even put the nocks in my fletching jig without breaking them. I would NOT buy this product again.
