    Although I have made my own arrows for years I am new to wood shafts. I wanted to make my arrows from scratch and labored over how to finish them. The dip tubes seem to be the easiest and fastest method but you would need alot of finish to fill the tube and I wasn't sure how easy it would be to get the finish out of the tube. This device seems to be the answer. It was easy to use and left a glass-like finish. The remainder of the finish flowed back in the can for easy clean-up. I was concerned about the finish in the can skinning over so you do have to work fast. I did three coats on a dozen arrows in about 10 minutes then removed the device and closed the can. It seemed to work like a charm.

    The idea looks really nifty on the videos. Those videos make it seem like you'll be breezing through arrow capping and adding a clear coat in no time. I even watched those videos several times and thought about it for one year, until I made the purchase.The major problem appears as if the gasket is too narrow. The result was that I would stir up the paint to get it ready. Then try one of those flashy cap dips in the video and not one drop of paint was left on the shaft when I ran it through the eco dipper.Let's examine this. I dropped over $$ dollars in paints, eco dipper and a clear coat. All to have a tool which does not work. My plan is not to return the products. I will burn the paint launch this eco dipper off the next cliff I see. It will be much more satisfying getting revenge rather than returning products after this total disappointment. Besides, shipping is expensive and time consuming.Thanks to the eco dipper and 3 Rivers marketing, I will go back to the hardware store, use a rage steel wool and some Tru Oil to do my home made arrows. Just like my old timer friend showed me years ago. Feel free to see my other reviews. I do give many products high marks when they are good. But this thing is a waste in my opinion. Maybe they should provide a different gasket and some better guidance. But you know after all the marketing, what do they care? Once you bought the products the money was made.I'd give this zero stars if it was an option.

          Great product. As a beginner, this was very easy to use. Cleaning the gasket is as easy as letting the lacquer dry and flexing the gasket, and pealing off the excess lacquer. The only concern that I have is cleaning the excess lacquer off the rest of the device - it's not as easy, but it does come off with some effort.

          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

                  I heard people having trouble with using the eco-dipper with other thinner lacquers such as polyurethane. or lacquer. i couldn't order gasket lacquer for it was flammable. to use thin laquers and gasket and probable less mess tilt ecodipper 90' and clamp to high table feed them through vertically. (1)feed an arrow through till the taper for the tip is just sticks out a hair then line up the nock of the next arrow and feed through repeating until your done. i have a tilted floor plate to knock the arrows i finished to lean against the wall or just stop when the next nock is inserted to plug the hole to hang up previous arrow. since the cup on the eco holds the lacquer instead of dripping it into the bucket you only have to dip one arrow and keep coating one after the other, tip to nock.Did 2 coats on a dozen arrows in less than 5 min. good for doing lots of perfect finishes FAST!

                      Comments about Eco-Dipper:

                      The Eco-dipper does beautiful work with gasket lacquer, but, as others have said before, cleaning up the frame is not easy. Also, putting on a white cap has proven difficult for me, but that may have more to do with the colored gasket lacquer than the dipper. For doing shafts quickly and uniformly, you cannot beat the Eco-dipper.

                          I live and build arrows on the road. Needed something compact in size due to limited space. The Eco Dipper is compact, easy to use and very functional. Clean up of the "gasket" is easy as the lacquer just pops off when dry. I did find that the lacquer does stick to the frame portion and clean-up is a bit more difficult with that. Works good for both finish coat and crown dipping.

                                This is very easy to use and makes a nice, even finish. You can vary the gloss by how many coats you put on. The bad thing is it's advertised that the gasket lacquer peels off easily, which is NOT the case except for the gasket itself. The lacquer comes right off the rubber gasket, but sticks to the body and has to be scraped off with a knife; you have to be careful not to cut into the body of the eco-dipper while doing this.

                                  I think this product will work great with wood shafts. I tried it with gold tip traditional shafts and it would not leave any of the finish behind. it just squeged it all off as it went. I will hold on to it untill I can try some wooden shafts with it though.
