      I make my own arrows and, of course, fletching is very important. In the past I have chosen, orange, yellow, red, mainly to have the arrow visible during flight and after ( when it may be necessary to hunt for the arrow). This chartreuse colour for the full length feather is as visible as it gets and each feather was uniform, easy to chop and even with a 5 1/2" feather, I could even obtain some extra leftover feather for a shorter fletch. In conclusion, these feathers were a great purchase. I am just completing a dozen arrows using this fletching and can hardly wait to see them in the air, and hopefully not spending much time trying to find them.

        These feathers are very consistent in color, length, and size of quill base. I think they are more consistent the other "top feather" supplier.

        I have been experimenting with very low feather fletched arrows. When you make them yourself, you must insure uniformity otherwise the arrows will not fly true even if you shooting technique is perfect. Sometimes with a feather cutter, it is better to use finer feathers so that the cut is more consistent on the leading edge of the feather. With very low height fletching you do not need really robust feathers.

              I purchased the full length feathers to use in building flu-flu arrows. I teach archery to youth and womens groups as well as Safety Education, and I use up feathers at a pretty good rate. I initially purchased the feathers because of thier price, but after receiving them and installing them on few shafts, I have seen how good a quality they really are. The colors are more intense, more vivid and more consistant than other feathers I have used. This makes them easier to find in the brush. The length was perfect to get 2, 4.5 in. feathers from each. The quill was ground to a very smooth surface and gluing was easier than ever before. I will definitely purchase them again.
