            Makes crafting wooden shafts so much easier. Just get a good supply of denatured alcohol from a hardware store and keep a lighter handy to ignite the wick. Burns steady and clean, and heats up those glue-on heads in no time. I'm no expert, but I've melted enough metal to suggest that this flame is not hot enough to mess with the temper on my broadheads. (Would appreciate it if I were corrected on that!)

            Necessary for making glue-on type arrows

              Despite having to take two wrenches to separate the protective cap from the wick holder, this is a necessary tool for melting glue for arrow building (even if you are just trying to re-attach a field point). My buddy uses a baker's torch (very small version of a plumbing torch), but I find this heats too fast and is not controllable for me as a beginner. If you use denatured alcohol (purchase at any home improvement store), it burns clean and even allowing me to "go slow" and get it right the first time. My guess is one wick and one quart of alcohol will work for dozens of arrows or more. Be sure to buy denatured alcohol and not lamp oil.

                  this was not the alcohol burner displayed in the catalog. it does not tilt like the one displayed making it hard to use. it is a piece of junk. i could have found one like this in any craft store.

                  I use the alcohol burner for installing inserts, Broadhead adapters and uni-bushings for now, but I can see other uses in the future. The great thing about this burner is that it burns denatured alcohol and there is no residue on the parts being heated, which makes for a clean area for the glue.
