        I bought my initial fletching jig several years ago using a right wing clamp. I decided just recently to change to left wing but wasn't sure if there were any design changes requireing the purchase of a whole new fletching jig. Someone else had the same concerns and asked if the new clamp would work. The answer from 3Rivers was that, yes, it would work so I decided to give it a try. My package arrived within days of ordering which, by the way, is one of the best things I like about 3Rivers. Very little wait time! Anyway I started fletching right away without any problem with the LW clamp on my jig at all. These clamps are tough and with a little care will last a lifetime.

              I thought it has a "better-than-average" helical on the clamp. Not too much... just really good....
              I also use the teflon tape on it, and it makes a great combination.

                    WHEN I WANT SOME LW FEATHERED ARROWS I FIND IT IS EASY TO SWITCH THE J-8 JIG FROM RW TO LW BY LOOSENING THE 2 SCREWS AND TWISTING THE GUIDE.IT IS A INEXPENSIVE AND VERSATILE SYSTEM.

                      I HAVE 2 OF THE J8 CLAMPS . THEY ARE STRAIGHT CLAMPS, THE WORK GREAT ON MY BLITZ JIGS. I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING THE HELICAL CLAMPS. BEFORE I WOULD BUY I WOULD ASK 3 RIVERS TO CHECK THEM OUT. TALK TO THEM ABOUT THE TYPE JIG YOU HAVE, SOME JIG WILL WORK AND OTHERS WILL NOT.

                                        Like the J-8 jig itself, the left-wing twist clamp is useful addition to any workbench. Because of the design, though, it does take a bit of practice to get a feather to sit just right.
