The lacquer itself was excellent. The quaiity of the stain under the lacquer was poor as was the quality of the shafts themselves. Consequently I have a beautiful finish over poor stain and wood.

The instructional sheet that came with the lacquer recommended the shafts not be sanded prior to finish. They needed sanding.

this product makes sealing your arrows as easy as can be just make sure you get the dipper cap and rubber to go,with it otherwise its a little messy but nothing I was concerned with.

I purchased this along with a dipping tube and Gasket Lacquer. This is a must have, it made the process so easy and fast. The design really makes for nice, consistent coats of lacquer.

I do not access to Gasket Lacquer in Australia.
I used to be bemused with my efforts with Marine Varnish putting way to thick (and heavy, even though it was thinned 2:1) a coating
using conventional dipping system, which may have actually weakened the spine of my arrows.

So now with the speed coat system I can apply a controlled coating using thin coats that do not weaken my arrows.

Be careful not to overfill the 3Rivers Big dipper past the rim line just below the thread. Otherwise you form a well above the gasket.

So on insertion immerse arrrow to within 2" of end, then slightly raise it to make gasket pucker back towards you just before full immersion.
Then any excess (even if you did form a well) runs off onto the gasket and you do not get any runs, wipe the gasket clear with a rag if you start to form a well.

Bonus is no drips, no thinning, minimal (negligent) smell and I can do a coat (including rubbing down with 0000 steel wool) of 24 arrows in less than an hour.

3Rivers delivery is always excellent, even to Australia and freight charge is minimal.

I used this product with Cabot brand Brushing Lacquer. This beats the ever-lovin' daylights out of the old dip once per day, per coat tube system. Inventor belongs in Archery Hall Of Fame!
