    I ordered this bow several months ago as an inexpensive way to get back into primitive archery. Mine was ordered at 45-50 pounds at a 28" draw. My bow came with a finish somewhat darker than the bow pictured in the catalog but it still looks good. The glue lines between the bamboo backing and the hickory bow core are nearly impossible to see. The tiller is good. This bow came with a flemish twist bowstring which did not have a center serving. The string looked well made but I replaced it as I like a center serving on my bowstrings. The bow was advertised as being 68" long nock to nock. Mine is 70" long nock to nock. My bow draws smooth to my anchor and is very quiet. So far I have shot about 1000 arrows with this bow and have been impressed with it's performance. My bow has taken about a 2" set on either limb. This is common with this type of bow and does not adversely affect it's performance. I have not chronographed this bow but the arrows seem to shoot reasonably fast for this type of bow. The lengh of this bow can make moving in tight confines "interesting" but with a little practice this becomes a minor issue, at best. Without a shelf cut into this bow you will need arrows spined about 5 pounds lighter than what you are drawing. This is common with bows of this type and does not significantly affect accuracy. Since you shoot off the hand/knuckle with this bow you will have to either wear a glove on you bow hand or wrap the front of your arrow's fletchings to prevent cutting your hand while shooting. Again, this is common with bows of this type.

    Made by the difficult-to-work-with RudderBow people, it came with a Big Ugly 2" Knot/Knurl just 12" from the upper nock (!!!) I called the good folks at 3Rivers about it and they said to go ahead and shoot with it, as it does have a 1 year warranty. By that time I had already "defaced" the bow, so I had to keep it anyway. Let's hope that maybe it will break ;-) !

    There are better bows out there for the same or less money. Shop further.

            This was a great birthday gift. but was from my wife and kids. I have 2 other bows, 1 is a self bow and the other is a reflex /deflex osage bamboo back bow. It is very relaxing to me to use a well made item . The bamboo backed hickory bow tht I just received is the strongest of the three and is very enjoyable to shoot.

              This bow is everything and more that you could want in an English style longbow this traditional design offers the same accuracy at 30 yards as a recurve and packs a much larger punch. This bow is perfect for those looking to channel their English heritage or maybe just bringing it back to basics I use this bow for targets both paper and 3D and can vouch that the accuracy needed for hunting is defiantly there all and all the best possible bow for any needs

                  I bought this bow just for fun. It has a classic look of an old-time longbow. The string that was supplied was not served, so I did that myself. The bow shoots smoothly, and in short order I was shooting it where I looked. It is not particularly a fast bow, but is a great representation of a selfbow from years gone by. I am going to build some arrows of the correct spine and then will see how much better it shoots. Just for fun, I'll make up some arrows with broadheads to use once in a while for deer.
