I shoot SCA target archery and also 3-D (working toward goal of bowhunting) with a 45 lb Bear Super Kodiak recurve. Traditional archery in its various facets is my thing, although I am admittedly not shooting "primative." I had read and heard that cordovan is the material of choice whether you choose tab or glove for string-finger protection. I had bought the horsehair tab offered by 3Rivers and liked it very much, but it developed a groove after about 1000 shots--for under $6, that's just fine. It offered a little better cushioning than this Cordovan Tab. This Cordovan Tab is just as comfortable, and I like the spacer which separates your "one over" from your "two under" fingers. Rather than a hole to stick your middle finger through, to hold the tab on, this one has a strap. This method works pretty well, as long as I remember to direct the strap end outward between my middle and ring finger. After about 400 shots, this Cordovan tab is showing no wear, and I enjoy the "old school" leather, so So Far So Good :-) Maybe four-and-a-half stars.

This was the firt tab I have used after only using gloves for years. After getting used to it, I quickly got better accuracy while shooting all summer long. However when it rained opening weekend(worth calling in sick for,)I found that this begin to curl when soaked and are a pain to shoot. I ended up taking this tab off and hunted with bare fingers. Not the funnest when using a 60 lb bow. Overall, this is a good tab when using in dry weather, but I wouldn't recommend it to take out when there's a chance of showers.

    This Bateman tab is a quality product. I like that the rubber finger spacer is removable since I like the feel of a tab without it. I also love the elastic band design for around the finger, it keeps the tab secure to my finger/hand which I believe is a must for accuracy.

              You can't beat cordovan for smoothness and durability. This is a very comfortable tab that adjusts for use bare-handed or with a glove. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars yet is that I haven't had it long enough to see how long it will last, but with the materials and construction used, I expect to have it for quite a while.

                I've used this target shooting and will definitly carry it in the woods this deer season. The release is very smooth and the material is slicker than eel spit. The finger separator is well made and keeps you from pinching down on the nock too much. Great product.

                  I use this for backyard practice as well as planning to use hunting, its a good tab really. It has just the right amount of grab and releases real good and it dont hurt my fingers like shooting them skin to the bowstring would be.

                  but my only qualms are I can never seem to get the elastic just right with how the tab sits on my finger, might be me personaly though, and the fact that the hide seperates and I end up getting the bow string in between my tab when I go to line it up to draw my bow, it can give you a nasty supprise with that extra felt pull when you draw back and have to let up to get it on the right part of the tab. but it conformes to your finger and grab point real fast and has almost no break in period.
