    I shoot target archery weekly with a reenactment group using a 30# traditional recurve. I was having issues finding a glove that gave me a good balance between protection and feeling the string until a member of our group let me try his Skookum glove. The leather is soft and moves with my hand without too much bulk on my skinny fingers, the string slides off the fingers easily giving me more consistant shots and eliminating the catching issues I had with stiffer gloves. I've only had the glove for a month, so I can't testify to how long it will last before wearing out, but so far it seems sturdy and it is well-constructed.

      Just bought my first replacement after about 1 year of using this glove, as the slick fuzz is just now wearing off the tips of my first Skookum glove. I have longer thinner hands, so I get the large instead of the extra-large. I like the fingers to fit snug and the wrist strap to pull the glove tight to the ends of my fingers. Most other gloves stick out past the ends of my fingers, which I feel hinders a smooth release. If you have beefy hands, you will definitely need the extra-large glove. I shoot 50#, and this glove seems to be a good balance of protection and feel at that weight.

          After using this glove for about 2-3 weeks, the felt material started to form holes and would catch my arrow nocks when i would put them to the string. The damascus glove is 10x better and costs less

            This glove is great but the sizing is off. I am an absolute medium so I ordered a medium - the fingers were perfect but the strap that is supposed to go around my wrist would only go around the bottom of my hand. I had to order a large. Needs about an extra 3/4 inch in length.

            Plan to give the medium to my daughter.

                i shoot a lot. wore out damascus gloves every three months. wanted a little more finger protection and longevity. GO IT with this glove. tried some of the heavier gloves..no feel..glove is just right for a mid weight bow

                  I was having problems finding a finger glove with fingers small enough for my narrow fingers accomodating my liking for string feel. Most equipment is designed for men. I E-mailed this site after communicating with other sporting goods sites and Shawn Leins took the time to evaluate my fitting situation and examined each glove brand that would best fit my fingers. He suggested the Skookum glove in a small. It is perfect. A glove that fits around my fingers snugly without the left over material at finger tips to interfere with string release.
