Cons:The leather is very hard (like a saddle), while I've been taking steps to soften it, the glove begins to hurt after 30-40 arrows. The finger holes come to a point and the tips of my fingers get pinched. I also can't feel the string well. I have not given up on this product but If I were someone else I'd try one of the other brands. For now I'm keeping my trusty finger tap.

Pros:The sizing guide was accurate, the product is very well made (I'll dust for 20 years before that glove breaks).

Comments about Cordovan Traditional Archery Shooting Glove:

To start I shoot a Bob Lee Signature recurve thats 60" and 58# @ 28". I was shooting with a Damascus Doe skin glove but that glove is to thin for 58 pound draw, my ring finger hangs up on the string. I like to feel the string on my fingers and this glove is to thick for that. I also am not fond of the strap holding the tips on your fingers. They are loose and feel like they are going to fall off. Reviews are correct saying the glove is sized big so if you use a large go medium and let it stretch. Used this glove for 2 weeks untill I just replaced it with a [*]. The [*] gives me the feel and protection I have been looking for.

Stiff stylish glove

Comments about Cordovan Traditional Archery Shooting Glove:

Nice stylish glove. Fit and protected well. Very stiff however. If you don't like to feel the string when drawing then this is the glove for you. Your finger tips are surrounded by one layer of leather plus there is another "pad" layer that is on the tips giving it a very thick (but protective) layer. If you get finger pain from the strings then you may want to try this glove out. If you like to "feel" the string when drawing then this is not the glove for you.

Comments about Cordovan Traditional Archery Shooting Glove:

I'm still searching for the perfect glove and I decided to try this one. I like this glove because despite its thick cordovan fingers overlays you can still feel the string reasonably well. I feel I get a slick release with the cordovan as well. I also like the buckle design over the velcro, its quieter. It doesn't have the feel or comfort of the Damascus but it comes pretty close and I think it will be a great alternate for me since I plan to shoot heavy bows and thinner bowstrings. Highly recommend you try it.

I shoot heavy bows,100# plus, and this is the only glove that gives my fingers the protection they need. If you shoot heavy bows this is a must have.

Comments about Cordovan Traditional Archery Shooting Glove:

I shoot every day unless it is raining. I have been using the Super Glove for a few years now and have been very happy with it except for all the extra leather at the end of the finger tips (the extra leather on the end of the fingers can rub my skin raw along my jaw line if I shoot more than 150 shots). As a boy I grew up using an open-ended finger type of glove. I eventually started using tabs as an adult and then I went to the super glove. I recently bought the Cordovan Traditional Archery Glove and it combines all the elements that I like when shooting my 55+ lb. longbows: the protection of cordovan, the open-ended finger style, and the quality workmanship and traditional design. I have made hundreds of shots with it and so far I am very happy. I think I read through all the reviews before I purchased the glove and one of the things that concerned me was a few people said the stitching on the cordovan tips was a problem. After hundreds of shots the stitching is holding up just fine. The other thing that I found in the reviews is that the glove runs a little on the larger side. So instead of going with my normal large size I bought a medium. I made the right choice. The open ended design seems to have spared my face getting rubbed raw so that is really nice as well. The glove is stiff when new but it breaks in nicely. No surprise there. Very nice, smooth release as well and the price is fantastic.

Comments about Cordovan Traditional Archery Shooting Glove:

I liked the way it will adjust to my hand. The pads on the fingers were removed and now I have more of a feeling of the string when I release the arrow. I would definitely purchase another. I soak the glove in linseed oil removed the finger pads, and now the glove works great.

Comments about Cordovan Traditional Archery Shooting Glove:

I was looking for a glove without elastic in it. the elastic always seems to wear out. I realy like the look and feel of this glove. It was kind of stiff at first, but after putting 3 or 4 dozen arrows down range it broke in quite well. The stiching on the middle finger overlay started to fray alittle, but other than that its a well made glove.

Comments about Cordovan Traditional Archery Shooting Glove:

I have used this glove for 7 months now, and I estimate I've shot about 4000 arrows with it. The leather is excellent quality and the fit and comfort have only improved as the leather has broken in and conformed to my hand. If you are between sizes I would suggest sizing down, because the length and wristband are very adjustable but the fingertips stretch and loosen with time. I like the traditional feel of the design, especially the use of a metal snap instead of velcro for the wrist strap. The cordovan tip overlays offer a slick release and very good protection -- in fact, too much protection for my 45# recurve. I cannot feel the string at all through the thick, double layer of leather. I wish the overlays didn't wrap so far around the sides because they make my fingers feel unnaturally wide and somewhat clumsy. I might recommend this glove to a friend with a heavy bow if it didn't have one major design flaw: the stitching that attaches the overlays is completely exposed on the release surface, and has therefore worn though and begun to unravel. I shoot split finger with a brass nocking-point, so the wear is especially apparent on the upper edge of the middle finger. See picture for 4000 arrows worth of wear. It's hard to part with the great traditional look and feel, but I will not be buying this glove again.
