Killed my first archery elk bull (4 X 4 -- not a monster, but a good little bull with a small harem of his own) with a Grizzly singel-bevel on a cedar arrow with added weight ("Extreme Front of Center"). These broadheads are hard but reasonably easy to sharpen with a file. I then hone on a fine whetstone and finish with a leather strop. The arrow penetrated 13" from a 45# longbow(@ 28" -- I draw 29.5") and it's still sharp. The bull elk walked 200 yards and fell over dead. Follw Dr. Ashby's system: he knows his stuff. I have killed whitetailed deer with traditional double-bevel broadheads and no extra weight, and never got performance like this even on 100-pound does.

I have killed 4 deer, a bear, and Russian boar with these heads in the past. Bought a new package of 130gn recently. The new heads were brazed together misaligned. This causes the heads to not seat properly on the arrow or broad head adapter. Heads rock back and forth on the 5deg taper making strait arrow flight very difficult or impossible to achieve. Sent them back to 3 rivers for exchange with a different brand single bevel glue on head. Very disappointed with Grizzly at this time. A devastating broad head means nothing if it cannot fly strait and true. Check the fit before hot gluing on!

    Comments about Grizzly Broadheads:

I used the 125 gr. with a 34 gr (long) aluminium screw-in insert on an Easton 500 carbon arrow. I was shooting a Samick Verna 55lb longbow.

I shot this spike at about 10yds. The broadhead impacted the edge of the deer's right shoulder blade, and splintered the bone, then the rib lengthways shearing the rib bone, and allowing the arrow to penetrate w/ no shaft drag. It passed through the vitals (heart & lungs), exited through the thick portion of the deers sternum, and sliced through the off side leg muscle.

The single bevel definately sported its signature "S" shape cut throughout the wound channel. My hunting partners said that it looked like a rifle was used. The cuts were not large, but made significantly more damage than any double bevel I've ever used.

The deer ran (miraculously to me) about 50 yds, and crashed dead, with a blood trail that Ray Charles could have followed.

The guys at the camp were marveling when I took the broadhead that just busted through bone, and tissue, and a piece of paper, and began shaving thin strips off like braggadocious confetti.

      Comments about Grizzly Broadheads:

Just a great hunting broadhead. I shoot my own handmade stick bows and have great confidence in the simplicity of these. Nothing to go wrong mechanically, fly straight and true, and are great bone choppers. Sharpen well with a shaving sharp edge.

      Service and delivery comments:

I always get great service with Three Rivers. Good delivery times, and products arrive in good condition.

Been bowhunting since 1986 and I am sharpening challenged. I can get these heads sharper than any other head I have tried.

Made very well. Spin true and the teflon coating is a great addition. Excellent broadheads.

              Comments about Grizzly Broadheads:

Very impressed with these heads. I am new to traditional archery. I am however a longtime bowhunter. These fly good and straight. Probably the easiest to sharpen broadhead that I have owned. I can get em shaving hair in minutes. They penetrate into my target great and a very noticeable s cut is present in the foam. Can not wait to try them out on deer in the late season this year.

                Comments about Grizzly Broadheads:

I used a Grizzly 120gr to take down a 200lb Aoudad sheep at 22 yards last week in Texas. This broadhead penetrated through both lower shoulder blades and was tricking out 6 inches on the opposite side. If I had any doubts about the durability and penetration capabilities of this broadheads, they are completely gone!! This broadhead did everything as advertised. As for sharpening, it did take me a little bit of time but well worth it! If a head is to easy to sharpen the steel is probably to soft. Awesome head!!

                  Comments about Grizzly Broadheads:

Ordered the 140 gr with the 32 grain screw in insert, took a while to sharpen to shaving sharp but they hold an edge! Zipped right through a whitetail at 15 yrds from a 50# longbow, pulled it out of the dirt, and it was ready for another hunt. One out of the six would not spin true, and some of the factory bevels were not straight but it didn't seem to matter to the deer!
