Q: I've read many reviews on cold steel Boar Spear and they all say it is STAMPED not FORGED. the description says it is forged, which is it? Asked on 1/9/2013 by hectorb911 from Washington Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: Stamping a metal product or cold-forging with a hammer achieves the same general effect: it hardens the metal, allows it to take a good edge, yet saves time and manual labor. It also saves production costs, enhances the profitability of the company you wish to buy from, and improves the geometry of the blade. I see no downside. Answered on 5/19/2013 by Nick from Columbus, OH A: Stamping and cold forging are the same thing. Answered on 1/19/2013 by Hiro from Tampa, FL A: I have double checked with the Cold Steel catalog and website and both say that the Boar spear is cold forged.
