  • Q:

I know the length is good for my arm, but how wide is it? I have rather skinny forearms so I wouldn't like it too wide.

      A:

It is 6" at the narrowest part and 8" at the widest part.

      A:

You might want to consider a guard that laces & covers the whole forearm. That way, you don't have to worry about the width.

      A:

This arm guard is single layer, thick (approx. 1/16"), well constructed and long lasting. It may be a little stiff at first but the more you shoot, the more it conforms to your arm and becomes quite comfortable. I met a fellow at a shoot who also had one and he ad done some beautiful decoration on it with his leather tools.

No, it's made from one piece of leather.

  • Q:

After you lace this like a boot, how do you finish the tie with the tails so it doesnt loosen?

      A:

I normally just wrap the loose ends around one of the laced up pieces of leather and then tuck it in.

    • A:

I just wrap it around the last lace across my forearm and weave it in and out a couple times. No problems with it loosening.

  • Q:

Why doesn't anyone make leather armguards in black? I really, really, really, really, really don't like brown.

      A:

The best selling armguards are the brown. You could dye the leather to black with our Fiebings Water based stain.

  • Q:

How do you lace this on using only one hand? (Obviously you can't use the hand on the arm you're bracing.)

      A:

I hold the arm guard between my body and my forearm to keep it in place. Then I lace it up. It is just like lacing a boot, you just hit every hook.

  • Q:

How are these for wearing on the right arm (let hand shooter)? If not what would you recomend that looks traditional? Where is it made? USA is a selling point for me?
    Thanks, Dean

      A:

The Standard Traditional Armguard is perfect for left or right hand shooters as hooks are on both sides so it never looks "upside down." All of our leather armguards are made in the USA. If that was to ever change we would specify in the description as "imported."
