The compass works great and is accurate. The sundial also works and gives the user an approximate time, granted conditions are right (i.e. not cloudy) and there is enough sun to cast a shadow. It can take some patience to read a sundial correctly in general, so the fact that this is handheld size might take some practice to get comfortable reading it correctly. Nonetheless, it is a wonderful feature to have on a compass and the compass overall works great. I would definitely recommend it. Hope this helps.
