Q: Could you apply this product with a cotton cloth if you are just starting out with making your own arrows? Asked on 4/21/2013 by Julian from scituate, MA Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: You could but I would not recommend it. If you do use a cloth make sure that you have really good ventilation. Using a dip tube is a lot easier and much safer. Answered on 4/22/2013 by Clint from 3Rivers Archery A: I think it would require too much solvent. The amount of ventilation you would need would keep you from having a debris free finish. Q: What do you clean up with afterward and what kind of shelf life would you expect from the product if kept (tight cap) in the dipper? Asked on 2/8/2013 by Lee from Western KY Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: CLEANUP WITH PAINT THINNER HAVE HAD SOME PARTIAL CANS FOR OVER 2 YEARS IN COOL STORAGE Answered on 2/9/2013 by Anonymous A: Most solvents should clean this up easily. Or you can wait for it to completely dry and scrape it off. If left in the dip tube the lacquer can last a year or so. It will depend on humidity and temperature though so not all areas will be the same. Answered on 2/9/2013 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery A: Acetone. Still in my dipper 8 months air tight. Just add some acetone to thin. Sent from my iPad Answered on 2/8/2013 by Anonymous
Q: Will there be other colors available in the future, such as blue (in particular)? Asked on 1/8/2013 by Griffin from Lawton, OK Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: We have tried to use a blue dye with the lacquer before. It has never worked out. The lacquer never seems to dry with the blue. We may try again in the future, but as of right now there are no plans to. Answered on 1/8/2013 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
Q: Can I use this product over oil base stains? Asked on 9/14/2012 by don,t have one from Monroe, Ga. Know the answer? Answer this question 4 answers A: once they are completely dry!!! COMPLETELY!!! Answered on 9/14/2012 by Anonymous A: This product gave me some problems in how fast it dries: not using the companies dip tubes and rubber gasket system. I used it over a Minwax oil based mahogany red and it showed no compatibility problems. Answered on 9/16/2012 by Anonymous A: I've applied gasket lacquer over a name brand oil based stain with great results. Sent from my iPhone Answered on 9/16/2012 by Anonymous A: Yes, you can use this product over almost any oil based stain. You will need to make sure that you give the stain ample time to dry first though. Answered on 9/17/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery

Q: If I put 4 coats on one dozen shaft how long would it take for me to finish them all? Asked on 6/1/2012 by St from Ma,Ga Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: You should wait at least 30 minutes in between coats. You can do two coats in quick succession. It will give you a thicker coat rather than two individual coats. Answered on 6/1/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery A: just did my first dozen the other day and with the big dipper and gasket kit(lacquer is too thick to use without) 4 coats took me about an hour and a half with dilly dallying. smooth and shiny. good luck Answered on 6/1/2012 by Anonymous A: It usually takes me about ten minutes to dip all 12 arrow shafts, then I usually wait about 3 to 5 minutes in between coats. You should be ready to crest or fletch all 12 in no longer than 1 hour. I usually sand my shafts down with 0000 steel wool and dust them off real good before I start the first coat, it smoothes them up nice and leaves a really nice clean finish. I use enemals for cap dipping and cresting, it seems to hold up pretty good over the gasket lacquer. Good luck with your arrows, nothing better than making and shooting your own wood arrows. Answer this question 2 answers A: I use red and it IS a bright red. Usually 3 coats does the job very well. Answered on 5/7/2012 by Friar Tuck from Fox Lake, Illinois
