  • Q:

Should I use the same size as my wood arrows or 1/32" larger.
(It is going over "bullet point" tips.)
I am concerned about getting them on the arrows.

You normally do not want to use these over points. After a couple impacts the point can start to push through the rubber. You want to match the size to what you will be sliding them over, whether it is the point or the shaft.

I used the same size as my arrows and they fit perfect...however I used directly on untapered shaft. if your points have larger outside diameter you need larger size. Keep in mind also that use over points will increase weight and change impact point.

  • Q:

I see on the product description that this item is not suitable for SCA events, but can anyone comment on this specific product's use in Viking reenactment (vikingsonline.org)? Viking reenactment is live-steel, and we use similar blunts in our archery, so I was wondering if these would be suitable or are too hard. Thanks.

I use the bunny busters to reduce risk of my grand children hurting someone
with metal pointed arrows. The busters might bruise but they are not likely
      to penetrate.

I have only used these blunts on stumps and small game. I know that if you were to get shot with one it could cause serious damage, but I am not sure how well armour would work.

I think they'd be safe enough, but don't quite look authentic.

can I put these heads over a feild point?

      A:

You can use these over field points. I would not use them over field points in heavier poundage bows over 55# because you will push the tip of the point through the blunt on a hard impact.

      A:

I weighed a few of each size. Here are the averages:
      1/4" 130 grains
      5/16" 123 grains
      11/32" 117 grains
      23/64" 116 grains

These should be rough estimates of anything that is on the shelf. Each package that I weighed had two to three grains difference between the heaviest and lightest points.

They can be used either way. We recommend that you use a straight shaft.

  • Q:

What size do I use for standard carbon arrows?

      A:

That will depend on the diameter of the carbon arrow. For the most part they will be a 5/16 shaft. There are some of them that are a micro diameter. They will need a 1/4".

They are really good for stump shooting. The rubber is easier on the trees as well.

They are for shooting small game an you put them on the end of your arrow. They work great on wood arrows.
