I would recommend using a two part epoxy.

  • Q:

Is it normal due to the way these heads are now being made for some of them to have a slight bow in the blade. Does this bow in the blade cause any problems with these broadheads?

No, they should not be bent. I will forward the feed back to the manufacturer.

I notices the slight bow as well, however this did not affect the ability to get the edge sharp.

There seems to a lot of quality variation with these broadheads.  A bow in the
blades is not a good thing whether it is normal or not. If the broadhead is not
straight it cannot be put on the arrow straight which is necessary for good
accuracy. While this is a very good design as noted by Dr. Ed Ashby in his
broadhead studies, it does no good if you cannot hit the kill zone with it.
Untill I see more consistency and quality control, I will not be buying anymore
      of these.

is single bevel or double bevel easier to sharpen?

      A:

That is a personal thing. I know a lot of guys that can sharpen one and not the other. Same thing with two blade and three blade broadheads. I recommend getting a broadhead that you are comfortable sharpening, or getting a sharpening system for your style of broadhead. No matter what you shoot, if its dull you will not get any penetration.

  • Q:

I bought 3 different colored Grizzly broadheads several years ago. They are screw-in to use with my aluminum arrows. With screws they weigh: green 159.1 grains; black 177.9 gr.; brown 194.0 gr. (3 randomly selected broadheads). What's going on? How can I replace these? (What are the manufacturer's part numbers?) How can I find matching field points? Do they make a screw-in, or are these for wooden arrows with a screw adapter glued in place? etc.

      A:

These heads are not sold with screw in inserts. In order to get the same weights that you currently have you will need to find which adapter you used and find the correct weight head to match.

We currently have the RW 140's available, but the LW 140's are on back order. We are expecting to receive them towards the end of the month, but these are coming from a new vendor and I do not know how exact the date is yet. Feel free to give us a call at 1-866-587-9501 or send an email to info@3riversarchery.com for inventory updates.

  • Q:

Which of the screw in broadhead adapters fit the 120 and 130 grain Grizzlies the best? Do they all work equally well and it's just a matter of choosing desired grain weight? It looks like fitting the inside taper could be important. I want to put it on a carbon arrow.

The adapters work equally well it is just a matter of your finished weight that you want.

  • Q:

So when a 160 grain broadhead is listed, does that mean the it is that weight with out the metal insert to convert to carbon arrow? In other words, is a 160 grain broadhead + a steel insert at 100 gr equals 260?

This particular broadhead, being a glue on head, is 160 grains without an insert. The insert would be extra weight.

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

Yes, a 160 grain tip weighs 160 grains by its self. So with a 100 grain insert it would be 260 grains up front.

how do you tell the difference from a right and left broadhead I had some given to me and i do not know the difference.

      A:

If you look at the broad head sharp side up one side will be straight and the other side will be at an angle. If the straight part is on the left its a left wing, if its on the right its a right wing.

To add what is already answered, you want to make sure that your fletch orientation matches that of the bevel.
