  • Q:

If I use a 200-grain screw-in point and an aluminum insert in my current shaft set up, will my arrows still spine correctly switching to this adapter with a 200-grain glue on point?

*They should be very close, Just remember to match total tip weights-
      points+inserts.*

It should be the same. Any effect would be minimal and wouldn't be noticeable unless your arrows are close to being the wrong spine to begin with.

I would bare shaft tune your arrows,
then you will know it's right.
I think adding 200gr to your arrow would
      make it a weaker spine.

Your arrow spine should remain the same assuming the screw in and glue on
inserts are close to the same weight and the arrow length is unchanged.

There are a couple differences. The screw-in head includes the threaded shaft in its weight description and then your insert is threaded and hollow and weighed accordingly.
When you go to a glue on setup..which I think is what you are trying to say....you get a head that is 200grs without anything else...but your insert now has an additional area of taper for the head to glue onto. You can match the insert grain weights as close as possible but in the big scheme of things I do not think it will matter much even with the glue weight.
Reason being is as you sharpen your broadheads you will lose some weight....and if shooting fingers your release is not going to be perfect.
Best way to check and know for sure is to glue on a 200gr field point as a test....shoot it and it should fly perfect if your setup was good before. Be careful to mount the points and heads symetrically so they spin true for best arrow flight.
Good luck...but if you mount them very good....and try to match up the weights of your swaged inserts to the screw-in inserts....should be little to no change.

I don't know what the weight difference between the 2 inserts is but my
guess is its minimal and you shouldn't see any significant change in spine.

  • Q:

I would like to be able to glue a Zwickey Black Diamond broadhead directly to most 5570 carbon shafts. Is the inside diameter of a carbon shaft compatible with this insert, and is the broadhead end 11/32? would like to eliminate the extra weight of the screw-in adaptor. Also, what (in grains) does one of these weigh?

You will need to check 3-R's web site. They have a chart that will tell
witch one will fit. It also gives the weight of each one. Hope this helps..

Broadhead adapters are made for specific size aluminum arrows and it is not
likely that any will fit the small diameter of your carbon shaft.

Yes, you should be able to use these if you get the Easton/GoldTip 5/16. The broadhead end is 5/16". They should weigh about 22 grains.

The adapter you have is for aluminum shafts such as those made by Easton. I have never shot carbons so I am not familiar with the inside diameter (ID) of the shaft. Call 3Rivers or the shaft manufacturer and ask what the inside diameter is of the shaft in question and what they recommend for a swaged insert. Carbon are usually much skinnier than wood and aluminum so there will likely be a necked down area to make it taper to the shaft...
If really wanting to glue on might want to consider trying some wood shafts....they get a bum rap from the guys that swear by carbon but I have stopped using aluminum and been shooting wood for 2 decades and absolutely love wooden shafts. I prefer Douglas Fir, Sitka Spruce or Lodgepole/Chundoo for the strength to weight ratio...much more durable than cedar.
Good luck and sorry I could not help on your specific problem.

I seriously doubt it. There would be very little demand. Most people who
shoot composite arrows have strayed far from traditional type equipment
      such as glue on broadheads.

  • Q:

Received your glue-in/glue-on broadhead adapters (item #BA-TRAD-1) for my Arrow Dynamics (HH Lite)and they are to small (very loose) . Do you sell different sizes for Arrow Dynamics????
    Asked on 7/13/2013 by Duker

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

We do not have different sizes for the Arrow Dynamics as they are all built with the same inside diameter. This may be a tolerances issue. They made those shafts on the high end of the tolerances while ours are true to size or lower end of tolerances.

This can be confirmed by testing all shafts with the adapters to see if some hold tighter. If it is all shafts are loose, please contact our customer service.

With some epoxy glue they should still hold tight.

I'd like to put this on c.express heritage arrow (90 or 150); will it create a bump in the field point transition or will it be totaly slick? Is it going to be slick if i use it with ace 2blades 125 broadhead? thanks

CX 90 and 150's are different dimensions and require different size inserts.. Glue on broadheads for the most part are 11/32", and work just fine on 5/16" diameter shafts (CX 150-350). I have no problems with them.

      A:

The back of the broadhead is 11/32 so there will be a difference in size, but it shouldn't be a problem. The 90 takes a different size insert so these wont work with the 90s

Will these adapters fit the Easton Gamegetter XX75 arrows? I was thinking about making the switch from wood to aluminum but dont want to spend money on different tips and broad heads.

Hi fellow shopper, Those broadhead adaptors will certainly fit XX75 shafts provided that you order the ones specific to your intended shaft size.

Yes they are glue in adapters for aluminum shafs. When ordering them you need to know the spine of the arrow. Example if you are shooting 2018's you need to order the adaptors for 2018's

Yes, you will just need to select the same size adapter as the shafts that you have.
