Q: I have been reading about cresting with edding paint makers. I use all bohning products glue paint stain everything. Question is they say you cannot use the pins over a stain that contains a solvent. So does this contain a solvent and has anyone exsperiment with this before? This info is out of the bow accessories book I ordered from this site.:-) Asked on 12/28/2012 by james ky from lexington ky Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: I have found that Bohning products tend to only work with other Bohning products. I do not know if this finish contains a solvent or not, but I do not think that the other paint would work. Answered on 12/31/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
Q: Similar to carbon question. Can you use this fletch-lac color finish on an aluminum shaft? For example, if I buy a half dozen easton 1916 Blues, can I use this product on them? Asked on 6/1/2012 by Rich Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Yes you will want to wipe the aluminum shafts down with acetone first. Answered on 6/5/2012 by Dave from 3Rivers Archery
Q: I have been using this product for about 7 years now and just bought a can of white fletch lac, but it's not covering. I even dipped the shafts 5 times so far and no discernable difference. Do you know what happened? Asked on 2/17/2012 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: To the best of our knowledge this product has not been changed. It sounds like this is to thin you may be able leave the cap off for a few hours to thin it back down. I would recommend to contact Bohning first to see what they would recommend. Q: Are fletch-lac products compatible with the lacquer used on your pre-finished shafting? I am considering buying the pre-finished shafting and then adding a cap-dip and my own cresting. Is this reasonable, or should I just start with raw shafts? Thank you. Asked on 12/12/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: You will not want to use Fletch-lac with the Pre-finished shafting because on these we us the 3Rivers gasket lacquer. So if you want to use a certain color only available in the Fletch-lac you would need to start from raw shafts and use the Fletch-lac sealer. Answered on 12/12/2011 by Art from 3Rivers Archery
Q: Can I crown dip and crest with Testors or Fletch-Lac paints and then dip the whole shaft in Fletch-Lac clear to seal the paint and the shaft? Or will the paint bleed? Thanks Asked on 3/16/2011 by Dipper from ORYGUN Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The paint will bleed occasionally. The problem is that you dry the paint and then get it wet again when you clear coat. A majority of them will turn out. But, you will have the few that will run.
