Q: I am refinishing an old Browning Nomad recurve. I lightly sanded the fiberglass limbs. I sanded the riser and used Tru Oil on it. Would this be the product I need for the fiberglass on the front and belly of the limbs? If so, will it just give them a nice black, gloss finish? How many coats and is this flexible? Asked on 3/19/2012 by Opie from Indiana Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: This is a great sealer to use on bows and it is flexible. I would not recommend to use this on or close to Tru Oil because they may not be compatible. I would recommend to sand the Tru Oil off and just use the spray Polyurethane finish. This will finish in a nice satin look. I would use 3 coats waiting before each coat dries before the next is applied. Answered on 3/19/2012 by Art from 3Rivers Archery
Q: can i use this over an oil finish on a bow(so i can get more color and shine) Asked on 3/4/2012 by Dwight Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: We would need to know a bit more about the current finish on the bow. I would say the polyurethane would not stick to the oil finish.
