Q: Im going to make a Hickory long bow ans would like either this or Cocobolo for the tips, and maybe a little piece to be used as an arrow rest, how would i do that?? would i split this in half or how can that be accomplished? Q: Will I have to flatten my Bamboo backing before i glue on the horn or can it go on the crown of the Bamboo. Asked on 3/7/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: You can flatten the bamboo a little bit if you are just doing a limb tip. If you are doing the whole bow you will need to crown the horn. Answer this question 1 answer A: I do not know that I would recommend the hatchet idea. This is commonly used for reinforcing limb tips or decoration of various items. Q: I want to consider the horn blocks. The question I have is.. Is one block going to be sufficient for one bow. Or would you recommend two blocks? I would imagine if the block is thick enough it might be easy enough to cut in half with the band saw. Asked on 2/8/2011 by Joe Bean from Kirkland,WA Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Depends on how you are going to use the horn block. If it will just be an accent then you may be able to get 3 or 4 bows out of it.
