    How thick is this rest? Is it the usuall 1/16 (.060) inches thick? Also, can this rest be used after the hair is worn off? Is there enough leather to act as a plate and rest?

      A:

      The calf hair rest is about .050. You could use the leather as a rest or strike plate. But I would recommend just getting the leather rest or plate. They will last longer.

  • Q:

    My Tomahawk came with this rest on it but it appears some of the hair is coming off. Do I need to replace the rest or can I just shoot off the left behind leather.

      You can shoot off of the leather that is underneath the hair. The shelf and strike plate material are personal preferences. I would recommend that you would get new material.

      You are going to need to order it in right hand so that the hair is going the right direction.

      This is fairly thin. The hairs help to distribute the noise. It is a very popular rest and plate.

      This Calf hide scuff plate is thick enough to do its intended job ( about 1/16" ) but not thick enough to change the tune of your bow.
