Q: I have a homemade longbow I recently inherited. It has no shelf for the arrow to rest. Would this item work for a rest or do you have another product that would work or should I just shoot using my hand as a rest? Asked on 5/24/2013 by Texas Bowfish from Odessa, TX. Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: That would work just fine for that bow. Answered on 5/24/2013 by Clint from 3Rivers Archery
Q: Hi- Even after reading the questions, I am still confused about how the Para-rest is installed. Does this item attach to the strike plate or to the shelf plate? Does the arrow travel parallel to the line of bristles, or perpendicular to the line of bristles? Thank you. Asked on 1/5/2013 by don from Mid Michigan Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The rest is mounted to the strike plate. The bristles act like the flipper arm of an elevated rest. Answered on 1/7/2013 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
Q: which would be better the bear weatherest or this rest Asked on 8/8/2012 by newby Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: I feel that the Brush rest would be a better choice over the Weather rest. The Brush rest is flat across the top which will not affect the arrow flight where the Weather rest has a hook to help hold the arrow on. This hook will sometimes catch the arrow a little upon release causing some erratic flight. Answered on 8/10/2012 by Art from 3Rivers Archery
Q: will this rest work on a left hand bow, and is the installation the same? Asked on 7/31/2012 by n/a from Albertville,Al Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Yes, this rest is ambidextrous and will install the same on a LH bow and a RH bow. Answered on 8/1/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
Q: Can this rest be mounted under the leather wrap on your lynx 2 Hungarian bow so I don't have to shoot off my knuckles? Asked on 1/8/2012 by AKBowhunter from Anchorage, Alaska Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer Q: can you use this rest with plastic veins and does it stick to the arrow self or the side of the bow above the shelf Asked on 9/20/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: I would not recommend using plastic vans with this rest. The rest sets on the shelf. Answered on 10/5/2011 by Clint from 3Rivers Archery
Q: 1) does that little bit of plastic that the bristles fit into that sticks out slightly from the round part; does that maybe cause some problems when the arrow is shot and tries to push cleanly into the flat round part; and 2) how does the flat surface give enough of a pivot point around which the arrow needs to paradox? Rests like the Bear Weather Rest and others have that type of feature and as I understand it the bows you sell that are rigged to shoot off the shelf have that feature built into the strike plate. Asked on 8/2/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: No, that small piece of plastic will not cause any problems. The bows are not 'rigged' to have that feature. The strike plate is to stop the the arrow from striking the riser every shot. The bows with a radiused shelf do not contact the arrow as much. This helps to reduce friction. It does not have anything to do with a pivot. Answered on 8/5/2011 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
Q: Do the bristles angle up slightly or are they parallel to the bow's shelf? Asked on 7/3/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: They are parallel to the shelf of the bow. Answered on 7/7/2011 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
Q: What serves as the strike plate on this rest? Asked on 6/29/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Once this is on the bow the side plate will be the self adhesive plastic plate that holds the rest to the bow. Answered on 6/30/2011 by Art from 3Rivers Archery
Q: Can this bow been used on Samick SKB or Mind 50 Recurve? If so, how would it be set up? This bow doesn't have a self. Asked on 12/17/2010 by Danny from Georgia Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: That is a hard on to say. I do not believe their is enough flat surface on either of those bows in-order to get the Brush Rest to hold in place. For those bows you may only be able to shoot of your knuckle. I would recommend getting a bow glove then: http://www.3riversarchery.com/images/small/4002X.jpgAnswered on 12/30/2010 by Johnathan Karch from 3Rivers Archery
