Q: Would this serving be good for a center serving on a flemish twist bowstring? or is this for tying on nocks and peep-sights? Asked on 2/13/2013 by slayer43 from La Crosse, WI Know the answer? Answer this question 4 answers A: I just used it for the serving and the knock or however you spell it, and it worked perfectly. You see, I'm this really cheap person that can reuse materials for more than one purpose and from personal experience, it should work for everything you just named but center serving is for sure. Answered on 2/15/2013 by Anonymous A: I would only use it for peep sights. Seth Answered on 2/13/2013 by Anonymous A: Nylon can be used for serving and for nocks Answered on 2/13/2013 by Dave from 3Rivers Archery A: Thats what i used it for and i have had no problems just be sure to wrap it tight Answered on 2/13/2013 by SMS from houston tx
Q: Would your #4 nylon 4146X serving material be what I would want for my B50 Dacron string on my old recurve bow? Asked on 1/5/2013 by Jim from Fresno, Ca Know the answer? Answer this question 4 answers A: Yes. I have a pretty old recurve bow myself. I put the serving on the bow string and it works quite well. I think this serving material is kind of universal but I am using B50 Dacron string myself and it works. Answered on 1/8/2013 by Anonymous A: Yes, the nylon serving material would work fine for your string. You can use any serving material you want, it will not affect the bow. I do recommend trying a few of them out. The more expensive ones not only last longer, but can give you a different feel of the string. Answered on 1/7/2013 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery A: Jim , I am new on making bowstrings, but I have been archer all my life, I have used this serving material on three strings and I am very happy with it. Sal Answered on 1/6/2013 by Anonymous A: Yes, nylon will be fine for serving on B50 Dacron. Make sure that you have enough strands of B50 in your string for the poundage of your bow, then serve. If your nocks fit loosely, you may want to lay two or three short pieces of B50 under the center serving. If they fit too tight, carefully open them up with fine sand papper until they will hold the string through the draw, and fall off with a moderate tap on the string. Q: Dumb question, but could this be used to tie and secure feathers on a shaft? I'm looking for alternatives, since it seems the silk thread is out of stock. Asked on 12/27/2011 by John from West Coast Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: YES, and due to the varrious colors you can match to feathers or cresting or just to add more flare, the string is really strong and can be used to do just about anything you need it for.
