      A:

The rule of thumb is 3" shorter for a longbow and 4" shorter for a recurve for the AMO listed.

  • Q:

I recently purchased the Samick Journey with 40# and 60# limbs. I heard that it will handle a fast flight string. Will the limbs also handle the D97 string as well? Does the D97 have even less stretch then the fast flight string? The thing is, I'm a little leary of useing those strings. I don't want to put excessive tension of the limb tips especially the 60# limbs. Which one of the two would put the least amount of pressure on the tips? What would you recomend?

      A:

Yes, it will handle D97. The D97 is suppose to have less creep. I would recommend the FastFlight material.

    I have a Bear Grizzly 58" with a 40lb draw weight.

It has a DF97 flemish string, do you have a replacement, and do you ship internationally ?

    Thank you

      A:

Yes, we have D97 Flemish Strings (Item #4510X) and we do ship internationally.
Please make sure that the Grizzly is fast flight compatible. The new Super Grizzly's are fast flight compatible, but the standard Bear Grizzly is not.

  • Q:

I have a Byron Ferguson royal Safari 66 AMO and a Ferguson Patriot 64 AMO. Which string and what length do you sugges?
Asked on 7/25/2014 by None from Franklin Pa

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

The rule of thumb is 3" shorter for a longbow. So a 66" AMO longbow would take a 63" string. A 64" longbow would take a 61" string. You just need to make sure that the bows are fast flight compatible from the manufacturer.

      A:

It sounds like you are describing the "tag" ends of the braid. Basically, the string is made from individual strands and braided together. At the ends of the braid, you will see these "tag" ends. This is where the individual strand ends. Just take put some string wax on the string and then use a piece of leather rubbing up and down the string. This will help melt the wax into the string and you won't notice the ends.
