  • Q:

I've never used this kind of dampener. Are they really effective? Can you notice a difference in noise level?

Yes, they work very well. If your bow is noisy, then you should notice a difference with these.

Very noticeable difference while using bowjax. Helps lessen vibration and quiets the bow down , also a plus if you dry fire your bow. Have them on my all my recurves and long bows .

      A:

I bought the limb dampeners mostly to lessen the effects of "bowshock" on my wrist and hands from my recurve. I like to shoot a lot, and my bow had more vibration than I realized, and over a short period of time it caused some pain in my hand every time I shot. I bought the Bojax limb dampeners and the string dampeners mainly to lessen the overall vibration of the bow. Once my hand healed enough to shoot again, I attached both limb and string dampeners to my recurve. There is almost no vibration when I shoot now, and the bow is very quiet. Although I did not mind the noise of the bow before, there was a definite marked difference in noise level after I attached these. There is almost no noise when I fire the bow, and the deer I have shot did not seem to flinch or jump the string, from eight to twenty yards away. These definitely work to reduce both noise and vibration..

I have the Hoyt Dorado which is a recurve. There were some issues with vibration. That is what I bought these dampeners for. I didn't notice a big noise difference however I installed mink fur on the string so that brought noise level down. Over all very good dampeners and I have had no issues with them.. Worth the money.

      A:

Yes, they come with an adhesive backing. Clean the surface to be adhered to with denatured alcohol, peel the protective tape from the bottom of the limbjax, and place carefully where you want them installed. You can remove and reposition them, if done quickly and carefully. Once in the correct position, press firmly! After they have been insalled, they will not come off unless you FORCEFULLY remove them. Adhesive leaves no residue.
