  • Q:

I am torn between this bow and the super kodiak. They are both high quality Bear bow. Other than the bow length i have very short draw length fully extended with out over stretching am only 27 inch. So stacking is not of concern. this bow is cut pass center while the Super Kodiak is to center shelf. As far as accuracy goes does cut pass center shelf help improve it? I know pass center shelf allow easier arrow tuning, all my bow are pass center shelf so am not so sure about the cut to center shelf.

The Super Grizzly is a really good bow. Yes, being cut past center is usually easier to shoot.

Can anybody tell me arrow speeds from a 55lb super grizzly?

      A:

I don't have any chronograph arrow speeds for this bow, but it shoots quite well and appears to be fairly quick. I prefer much more than the standard Grizzly.

  • Q:

I have a longer draw length now; 31 inches. What do you think : does it hurts to the bow ? I mean, it is a relatively short 58" bow. It is healthy to draw back in such a manner ? Will it suffer in its inner structure ?

I do not recommend this bow for you due to your 31" draw lenght it will start to stack at about 29" and it inner structure will be compromised after time.

I have a longer draw length as well and I do regret not getting a longer bow.. With that being said this bow is awesome and I've adjusted to shooting it over time. I can't speak for the integrity of the bow if you overdraw it but you'd have to be a beast with fingers of steel in my opinion. You draw over 30" you may want to get a lighter poundage option. I have this in 55lbs I blistered and lost feeling in my fingers at first drawing back too far. Good luck.

      A:

Not in my opinion. I draw 28-29", and it's never made a difference whether I was shooting a 58" or shorter bow. Remember, the bow is rated for a 28" draw, so every inch you add increases the poundage you are pulling. I'd guess, pulling that extra four inches is going to easily add 5-6 lbs. You can always call Bear direct and ask questions.

I guess it is possible but I have been using this bow for many years with a 31" draw. It continues to perform flawlessly with no sign of damage.

  • Q:

Recently I purchased a Super Grizzly RH 55#. My draw weight is about 30 - 30.3 inch. Question is : although it is said, that recommended brace height is around 7 and half - 8 and half inches, I use 9 inches, cause it gives less string slap on the braces, and less wrist slap. And maybe I would go further, to 9 and half inches. Do you think, it is exaggerated ? Those of you, who have this bow, what brace heights use ?
    Asked on 8/31/2013 by Barni

      A:

I would not recommend going to much over 9 inches; as you get to a higher brace height you may get to a point that the arrow is released from the string to soon and you may shorten the power stroke reducing the power of the bow. On the one I own I use a 8 1/2 to 8 5/8 brace height.
