No nock, no wax, no arrow rest. Just the bow (no instructions). All that aside, it’s a nice little bow. I use it to teach young family members in back yards. It is actually becoming one of my favorite bows.
Buy a bow stringer so you don’t twist the limbs...they are worth every penny.
Hope this helps.

No nock or wax
Not a bad bow. I got a Samick Sage and I like it better, though.
It assembles easier and the limbs have locking screws. The Summit limbs
just sit in notches and the string pulling against them holds the limbs in
place.

Hi,
This bow does not come with notch and wax.
So you have to do the notch yourself. The string is waxed
happy shooting

Q:
I'm considering purchase of a PSE Summit ILF TD 24#, but I'm unsure of what I need to order with it. What do I want for string, stringer, rest, etc. I'm stretching my budget a bit with this bow, so I don't want to go nuts with accessories just yet. I have no clue, so specifics are very welcome.

The string that comes with the bow will work just fine. You will want a string and a rest. I recommend the Limbsaver recurve stringer. You will be able to use it on just about any recurve bow out there. The shelf on that bow is flat, so it is better to use an elevated rest. The Bear Weather rest, Super T-300, and Champion II will all work well for that bow.

Honestly when I purchased mine I didn't order a whole lot of extras. All you need is some decent 30in arrows some string jacks to cut the vibes down because it wears on your wrist after a while if you don't, and I just went wit a simple rest that was like $8. Don't forget you knocking points as well and you will need a good forearm guard as it does have a bit of a bite. Also a draw length snapper would be a welcomed addition.

Q:
I'm new to archery and would like a bow for target practice, not hunting. Since I'm starting out, I don't want to invest too heavily right now and would like something that I can upgrade as I progress. I'm 6', 210lbs and above average strength. Would this be a suitable intro bow for me?

This would be a good bow to start. There are several manufacturers that make ILF limbs so you should be able to change the weight of the bow easily. I would also recommend taking a look at the Sage. It too has replacement limbs available.
Answered on 1/7/2013 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
A:
Yes.... it would be a wonderful bow to start with..The ILF limbs makes it possiable to grow with the same bow and higher draw weights. Because the biggest mistake people make when starting in traditional archery is trying to shoot a bow that is too heavy.
Have fun

Q:
I am looking to buy my first bow and took an hour class with a re-curve instructor. After this class he recommended to me the Summit as ideal for me. I am 5'2 and am about 110lbs so there isnt much of me. The summit only comes in a 66" length my question is. That's 4" taller then me would this be a problem when shooting?

No, the length of the bow will not be a problem for you.
Answered on 12/13/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
A:
This length will not be a problem for you. When you are in your shooting stance with the bow held straight out the bottom nock will be at least 1 foot off the ground.
The larger issue is getting the right draw weight. I think this bow comes with draw weight options of 20, 24, 28, 32, and 36 lbs. Your recurve instructor can tell you what weight you were using when he taught you to shoot and you can order accordingly. Do not get a weight that is difficult to pull - that will ruin the whole experince for you. If in doubt go with a lower draw weight.
I bought this bow with a 28 lb draw weight for my grandson to use when he visits. He is about your size and the 28' works well for him. Most of my bows are between 40 and 60 lbs but I really enjoy using the 28' Summit for target shooting. It is a very good bow for the money.
I hope this helps, happy shooting!

Q:
I currently shoot an old #25 recurve at targets in the backyard with my son. He will be able to use the #25 in about a year and I intend to give it to him. I am 5'8 175lbs and fit (for an old fart). Is this bow, or the Samick Sage a better bow for me to progress my skills and keep shooting with my son? I do not intend to hunt with a bow, use stabilizers etc., just simple shooting.

The PSE Summit is a great bow to progress your shooting skills. I have a 32 LB and love shooting it.

A:
You will be able to use either bow for that kind of shooting. It will be more personal preference than performance difference.

that depends on your draw lenght and the weight of the arrow

A:
There are many different things that will contribute to the speed of the bow. With something this low in poundage and meant for a target archery scenario I recommend that you use as light an arrow as possible while keeping it spined correctly.

Q:
I'm a 4' 10" about-to-be twelve year old, and I want a bow that will fit me for a long time. should I get the 32# or 36#? I have a 25 3/4 in. draw, so for the 36# I will be pulling about 31#, which is right where I want it

A:
I would go with the 36# myself. It will be about 30-32# at your draw length right now, and if you feel you can handle that perfect! The bow will grow with you and you will get more bow weight as your draw length increases.

Q:
Is this easier to shoot more accurately than the Samick Sage?

A:
This bow will be a little more forgiving than the Sage due to the extra length. But no bow is going to be more accurate than another. The accuracy will come from the shooter and the arrow.
Answered on 7/26/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
A:
This bow is very easy to set up and shoot. It is adjustable 10% for weight and tiller....and has now stack....The Sage is a hunting bow...the PSE Summit is a beginner/intermediate FITA bow....it all depends on what type of shooting you are planning to do. The Summit should make a great "string walking" because of the adjustable tiller capability.
