  • Q:

What colour string comes with the bow and would classic nocks fit well on it?

      A:

The string will be black an red. The Classic nocks will fit loose. I would recommend to order an additional T-Hawk string in the double serving for the Classic nocks.

My string is black and red, and the nock was OK.

What is the brace heigth recommendation for a 58" T-Hawk Diamonnd SS takedown? Thankyou for your time and info.

      A:

We recommend that you keep the brace height a little higher with the take downs. Between 7.25" and 7.75" works well.

i am looking at buying your T/D Diamond SS Longbow 64in in 45# bring it to just under 55# ..? at my 31in draw lengh...is there any stacking at the longer draw 31...thanks

      A:

Stack is terms for a bow that pulls an increasing number of pounds or fraction of pounds per inch for each inch of draw. No technically they will not stack, they will increase at about 3.5 lbs per inch so it will be just slightly more than 55#. For it to be closer to 55# @ 31" I would order about a 43# and it would be closer to your desired weight.

  • Q:

I am looking for my first long bow. I am 6ft 3 and am very strong with long arms. I want to target shoot with accuracy and i will hunt with it..i would like a bow capable of handling North American game. What would you recommend? If it does not impede accuracy a breakdown is good. I would like to have the best quality for a lifetime of use. Currently i have a PSE compound 60# bow with a 30"draw. I am not as worried about cost as i am quality and accuracy.

It might be best to give one of our techs a call at 866-587-9501 to fit you with the perfect Tomahawk.

I would say you would like a 64" Tomahawk in 50# or 55# at 28" (that will be heavier at a longer draw length). Great for both target and hunting, and the right bow length for a longer draw like yours. Being a takedown will not hurt accuracy and now you have the option of a 3-piece or 2-piece. The Tomahawk is the "Best of the Best" so you should be very happy with one.

  • Q:

I am 6ft 2in and I am looking to buy the SS I want the 60lb version and the 28in draw is fine with me but my concern is length. I would like the 58in for blind scenarios. Does anyone think this would cause me any issues with the shortest version thanks.

      A:

It would be alright if you only drew the bow to 28 inches, but any thing past a 28 inch draw length the 58 inch Tomahawks or any other bow for that matter will stack and could push the limbs to a point of failure. Short bows are for people with short-moderate draw lengths, not some that is 6' 2" with a 31 inch draw length. You would be far better off with a 62-64 inch bow and would suggest the 64 as your best option for smoothness and accuracy.

Typically the SS will be about 5 to 7 FPS quicker with all things the same.

All of them are going to come measured at 28". We can see what we have in stock and try to get one that will be the correct weight at your draw length. Give us a call at 1-866-587-9501 and we will do our best to find you the right bow.

  • Q:

Any difference in weight or performance between the T/D and one piece? don't want to compromise if I don't have to (transporting a 1 piece not an issue)
    Asked on 4/5/2011 by Bear

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

The T/D will have a little more weight to it. But, that is all centered at the hand. Most people do not know that they are shooting a take down until we show them. You will not loose any performance or feel.
