Yes, they can be used on a dacron string.

Yes, the installation is the same. Whichever string you use, it you plan to install them yourself have a bow press handy or be clever. I installed mine successfully without a press and it was frustrating at best.

      Jonathan,
These can be used on a dacron string. I have used them on both dacron and fast flight strings in endless loop and flemish configurations.

  • Q:

I am looking for a silencer that works well in the rain and does not hold water like the yarn puff balls. How do the beaver balls hold up in rain?

      A:

The Beaver Fur string silencers do well in wet conditions, but they are not waterproof. I would say you would be good with them, but if still concerned, go with all-rubber silencers like cat whiskers, Super String Leeches, or BowJax Ultra II.

      A:

Better than the puffs for sure. I think the best option for damp shootin is the cat whiskers (rubber) but you lose the traditional look. I also recommend coupling the beaver balls with the calf skin on your risers. The wet string slaps your limbs pretty bad. Those two, and a quick prayer to the deity of your choice is your best bet while still maiming a classic look.

Water does not affect them much. After all beavers
      spend allot of time there.

I think you could call the brown "beaver balls" a brownish grey. It is a pleasant color.

All of our silencers are sold in pairs. You will have enough for a silencer above and below the serving.

Absolutely. You might even want to cut a little off depending how big you want the "ball" to be.

yes, the package comes with 2 strips of hide, they are attached to each other at the ends. Just take a knife and finish splitting them apart.
