Q: Okay, so this jig makes many lengths of strings. But does it compensate for the loops to tie onto the nocks of your bow? (Timber hitch, etc..) Asked on 3/11/2012 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The timber hitch string (#6608) is made on this board and is 72" long tip to tip using the 3rd hole from the bottom. The length of a timber hitch string can be adjusted in length the same as a standard two loop flemish string by moving the peg up or down the board. Each hole approximately lengthens or shortens the string length by 1". It is best to construct a string on the board, measure the finished length, and mark that peg hole accordingly with the length. Since each person may twist a string a little differently this method will "calibrate" the board for the string maker. Subsequent strings then can be constructed at known lengths from that calibration. Answered on 3/15/2012 by Dean from 3Rivers Archery
Q: The holes in the center are adjustable for length of string, what length does each hole represent? ie...I have to make a 64" string for a 68" longbow, which hole do i use? Asked on 2/25/2011 by Bucky from Galesburg, MI Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Which hole to use will depend on how much string you are going to twist in the loop ends when making the string. The hole will vary between different people. There are also complete instructions with this jig. Answered on 2/25/2011 by Art from 3Rivers Archery
