  • Q:

Is this jig tapered to fit over the point-taper of the shaft or does it slide over the shaft before the arrow's been tapered?

      A:

The Internal Point Weight jig is parallel on the inside, and is recommended for wood shafting that has not been tapered, but it does offer enough length to have a solid hold on a wood shaft that has been tapered already. I would only recommend for the point end taper, but you could experiment with nock end.

      A:

The jig is not tapered and is intended for use on untapered shafts, however the instructions state that it can be used on shaft's that have been tapered. I have used this jig on both tapered and non tapered shafts with no problem's.

      A:

No, the hole is not tapered. It is drilled straight, so you are able to work on untapered shafts. It does allow a hole that is centered fairly accurately. I drilled the holes in shafts that were currently in use (tapered) and the holes was pretty much centered in the small flat on the end of the shaft
