A:
After a written email response from Shawn at 3Rivers saying, "This is the replacement sanding drum for the Great Northern Feather Processing Jig", (my response is, "DUH! Of course it is...This is why I'm asking the question in the first place"), I realized the problem here.
Anyone who is actually looking to buy just the drum, be aware that THIS IS NOT THE DRUM being sold as a "replacement drum". It is only a sandpaper cylinder that fits over the drum.
Actual answers, for those who might be interested:
* The shaft on the drum arbor is 1/2" diameter.
* Grit of the sandpaper is approx. 80 - 100 grit.
* Recommended speed of the drum on a drill press is at somewhere between 2000 and 2500 RPM by manufacturer.
* Is sold with only one (1) cylinder of sandpaper.
Why no one I spoke with at 3Rivers could tell me that what is being advertised as a "replacement drum" on the web site, is only a roll of sandpaper, and is not the drum & arbor itself as shown the photograph, I'll never know!
