Q: Does this jig work with self-nocked wooden arrows please ? Asked on 4/25/2013 by Horsebow Know the answer? Answer this question 5 answers A: I don't shoot self-nocked arrows. However, depending on the depth of the knock, it might work. If your knocks look like plastic nocks, with a deep notches then it would. If your knocks have a very shallow notches, then the shaft likely will not grab the metal rest that goes in where the string goes, and move during fletching. If you are carving out your own knocks, you can very easily make this work for you by controlling the depth of the knock. One of the best jigs I ever owned. Answered on 4/29/2013 by Anonymous A: Yes, this jig works on self-nocked wooden arrows. I'm very happy with the results. Answered on 4/29/2013 by Anonymous A: I never tried it but there is no reason it shouldn’t Answered on 4/25/2013 by Anonymous A: I would say it would work and I have never tried it. You will want to make sure that you have the nocks set just rite. Answered on 4/25/2013 by Clint from 3Rivers Archery A: Yes you can , I did my self just be sure of cutting the selfnocks tight enought. I would said a snugly fit. Answered on 4/25/2013 by Anonymous
Q: I'm afraid I don't understand the model selection. Straight is straight, but what about the left wing/right wing options. Are these helical clamps? Thanks. Asked on 2/26/2013 by Crys from Canada Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: Yes , right and left they are helical clamps rigth exclusively for right wing feathers , and left , left wing feathers. Answered on 2/26/2013 by Anonymous A: Yes they are helical that means they will have a little twist when you put them on the arrow. Answered on 2/26/2013 by Clint from 3Rivers Archery A: This is what I've been able to understand about this product. Straight will allow you to use left wing or right wing feathers at a 0, 1 or 2 degree offset. The Left Wing (Helical) Option will only allow you to use Left wing Feather and will place the feather at a 11 degree spiral. The Right Wing (Helical) Option will only allow you to use Right wing Feather and will place the feather at a 11 degree spiral. I hope this helps. Skyler Answered on 2/26/2013 by Anonymous

Q: I'm thinking of using the JoJan for fletching without tape - just using Duco. If you have experience with this, please tell me how well the fletching clamps seat onto the arrow shafts? I see in the "comments" section that some users found the jigs inconsistent and they needed to re-do much of their work - I wonder if they were using fletching tape, or just applying glue directly to the feather? Asked on 1/18/2013 by Nicholas from San Francisco, CA Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: As long as you set the jig up correctly and do several dry runs (placing the clamp on the shaft with a feather in it with out glue) you should not have any issues with inconsistency. If you do a dry run and notice that part of the feather is not contacting the shaft, Pull the clamp off and pull the feather in that area out of the clamp about 1/16". This will allow the feather to contact the shaft in that area when the clamp is down. If you pull to much feather out it will still lay flat on the shaft because the force you put on the clamp to seat the entire feather will push that area flush with the rest of the feather. Answered on 1/23/2013 by Art from 3Rivers Archery A: Hi , I am using glue directly on the feather , and yes I found that some times I have to touch -up some of the the gluing, not always and mostly in the back of the feather. The only thing I have to be careful is check the shaft that is sitting right in the nock receiver some times it moves when pressing down the clamp . What I found out is that every time is good to check the surface contact between shaft and feather before gluing a dozen , make adjustments and then start. Answered on 1/19/2013 by Anonymous A: We use Ducco for all our arrow fletching (several hundred arrows/year) and it works great! Answered on 1/18/2013 by Anonymous

Q: Can I use this with feathers longer than 5"? I fletch my arrows with 7" feathers (for a number of particular reasons). Can this product be used with them? Asked on 9/11/2012 by Rodrigo from Brazil, Curitiba, PR Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: I have one with straight clamps, and the clamps are exactly long enough to properly accept a SIX inch feather. I expect using 7" feathers with this jig would be tricky at best. Answered on 9/11/2012 by The Dave from Montreal, QC, Canada A: i have used this fletcher with 5.5" feathers, but never anything longer. You should be able to use 6" or 6.5" feathers but 7" may be cutting it close. Answered on 9/11/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery

Q: how do you know rh or lh feathers Asked on 6/30/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: If you look at the feather from the back, a RW feather will have a little ridge to the left of the base, and a LW feather will have a little ridge to the right of the base. Answered on 11/2/2012 by Dave from Montreal, QC, Canada A: If you are looking at them from back to front the LW feathers will curve to the right and the RW feathers will curve to the left. If you are asking which one you should use, it will not matter as long as you are not shooting off of the knuckle. LW tends to have more color options. Answered on 7/8/2011 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery A: If you look from the back of the feather, towards the front you will see the base is sided. If it is on the right it is a LH feather. If it is on the left, it's a RH feather. Answered on 11/25/2011 by Slaphead from Seattle, WA
