Q: Dear Friends, I am considering to buy a fletching jig. Please help me decide which one to go between the BPE Pro-Fletcher and Bitzenburger Fletching jig. Which one is more versatile? Which one good for the money. Thank you. Asked on 4/24/2012 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: You can't go wrong with the Bitzenburger is been around for years an does a great job. That the only one I use. Its well worth the money. Answered on 4/25/2012 by Clint from 3Rivers Archery A: the Bitzenburger is built to last from generation to generation. I believe the BPE has more adjustments. Both are good for the money. The BPE was the right choice for me. If it wasn't an option, or if I was harder on my tools I would have went for the Bitzenburger which is so solidly built. Q: I want to fletch my own arrows but dont know if I need a right, left or straight jig. I shoot a recurve and am right handed. I also want to know which feathers to use. Thanks Asked on 1/12/2012 by Ed from Medina Ohio Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: You can use any of the jigs for your arrows. Just do not mix left wing feathers with a right wing clamp or visa versa. The helical twist determines which way the arrow will spin on the way to the target. As for what feather, the most common feather style and length is 5" shield. Left wing is more popular than right wing as the old belief is right handed shooters should shoot left wing feathers. Answered on 1/16/2012 by Johnathan Karch from 3Rivers Archery A: Start with a straight fletch (for practice), using either wing feathers on your arrow. Just don't mix different wings on the same arrow. Answered on 1/16/2012 by GJTSr. from Chicago
