Q: Hello, I'm a novice arrow builder. Is a spine tester really necessary if I'm buying Cedar shafts that have been factory spined within 5 pounds? I shoot a 50# recurve if that matters. Thanks again Asked on 11/13/2012 by rar from Ypsilanti, MI Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: If you are just purchasing shafts by the dozen it will not be as helpful. If you are purchasing shafts in large quantities, a spine tester and a grain scale can help you make more matched sets of arrows. Answered on 11/14/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
