      A:

As far as I could tell, it did not stiffen the spine but it did significantly change the front of center.

No they do not stiffen the spine of your arrow.

      A:

It didn;t seem to stiffen or soften the spine on my arrows. If you cut the
weight tubes in half and glued them in the back of the arrow that would
      stiffen the spine some.

I've used them for a few years (3 GPI model) and I've never noticed any
difference in the spine of my arrows. They tune the exact same as those
      without tubes.

will these fit beman ics speed arrows?

      A:

Yes, the Speed arrows still have an inside diameter for .246.

      A:

These tubes have worked great in my ICS hunter arrows but from the looks of
it the ICS speed arrows have a slightly smaller diameter then the hunter.
These weight tubes may be a tight squeeze or just to large for the ICS
      speed arrows

Yes, the tubes can be removed once they have been installed as long as they have not been glued into place.

      A:

Generally, you try to cut the tubes for a tight fit between the insert and the nock. If there is no play you won't get the jackhammer effect of the tube in the shaft and the simple friction between the tube and the shaft will keep the tubes in place and prevent the nock from popping out. As long as you don't glue the tubes in, the tubes will come out if you just give the shaft a good whipping action (like you're swatting something in the air). I've never been lucky enough to cut them this precisely so I glue the nocks in with a tiny bit of shoe goo to prevent the nocks popping out from the jackhammer effect. This keeps the nocks in place, but it's not so permanent I can't still pull the nock out if I need to. I haven't tried to whip tubes out after pulling out the nocks, but my guess is the tubes will still fling out past the little bit of shoe goo residue. No promises though.

It will depend on the inside diameter of the shaft. If you can get us that information we will be able to tell you which size, if any, will fit into that shaft.

  • Q:

Which one would I be able to use with the Gold Tip Kinetic Hunter Big Game 200 arrow. I alos know that they say that I can use the Easton 75gr HIT insert in this arrow
Asked on 6/20/2012 by Arno Nel from South Arica

    • A:

The "1/4-inch" weight tubes fit the Gold Tip Kinetic shafts correctly, even though the inside diameter of the Kinetic shafts are .204-inch. 3Rivers might consider re-designating the weight tubes by more accurate outside diameter measurements. Simply stating 1/4-inch (.250) tubes fit inside .204 shafts is not helpful.

      A:

The GT Kinetic series have the same inside diameter as Easton X series shafts. You should be able to use a HIT insert according to the measurements, but I do not have one here to try it out. You will want the 1/4" weight tubes.

  • Q:

Will these tubes fit into aluminum shafts of the same nominal sizes as well? More specifically, will the 5/16" tube fit into a 2016 aluminum shaft?
    Asked on 5/7/2012 by Anonymous

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

They are a little loose in the 2016 you can put a little bit of masking tape on the tube in three places to keep it from rattling.

  • Q:

Can I get a tube to fit in Easton FMJ 340's, and Gold Tip Kinetic Pro 300's? Which diameter do I need?
Asked on 2/23/2012 by Trey Hart from Mercer, PA

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

Not sure on the Gold Tip Kinetic Pro, but for the Easton FMJ the 1/4" sizing will fit great! If the Gold Tip are a 5/16" shaft try the 5/16" size, they might be a little loose (use pliers to crimp the tubes through the entire length).

      A:

These will not work with aluminum arrows because they are a smaller diameter and will rattle around in the arrow.

  • Q:

everybody says it make the nocks fly out, how can i prevent that
    Asked on 1/26/2012 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

Nocks fly out when the weight tube is too loose. The extra space allows the weight tube to cause a jack hammer effect that pops the nock out. The tighter of a a fit the weight tube has the less it can move. The nock can also be glued into place.
