Q: I was thinking of using the Arrow Fix for hickory shafts. The last answer mentioned that a stainless steel socket was necessary rather than the aluminum one. How much does that cost? He also mentions going to the next size up but I am not sure what he means by that. could that be explained a little deeper. Basically, will this work with hickory? Asked on 1/9/2013 by Rick from Howelll, Michigan Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The Arrow Fix will work just fine with hickory shafts as is. There are upgrades to a few of the parts that come with it, but we do not yet carry those. Answered on 1/10/2013 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery

Q: Where do you get the 5 degree tang points shown at the end of the video? Asked on 7/25/2012 by Josh from Montana Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The points shown at the end of the video are not available. We looked into picking them up, but they were too cost prohibitive. Q: Dear Sir, Madam, The arrow-fix tools come with a very good and strong glue. Can this glue be ordered separately and if so, what is the product code? If not, what alternative glue would you recommend to use? Thanks Kind regards, Luc Asked on 7/15/2012 by Luc from Brasschaat, Belgium Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The Arrow-Fix tool does not come with any adhesive. We recommend using a two part epoxy, like the AAE epoxy. That will give you the strongest hold. Answered on 7/18/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery

Q: Is there a seperate conical drill bit that goes with the arrow-fix or is it included with the main body of the tool? Also, is there a jig to hold the 2 pieces of the arrow parallel while gluing? Asked on 9/28/2010 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: The conical drill bit does come with the jig when you purchase it. The jig itself (V-groove) holds the 2 pieces straight while you are gluing them together. Answered on 10/5/2010 by Johnathan Karch from 3Rivers Archery A: It does in fact come with a 5 degree taper drill bit. There is a notch that you place the spliced shaft into to keep it straight as the glue dries. Answered on 3/2/2011 by K Lan from College Park, MD A: The conical drill bit comes with the tool. The V-groove of the tool will do an ok job, but it is more thought for field use. If you do repairs often and multiple ones, use an 1/2 aluminum angle profile cut into 10" pieces and clamp shaft to angle with glue clamps while epoxy cures. This will give more consistend results. Answer this question 1 answer A: You can use the Arrow-Fix on any size shafting once you have the centering socket for 5/16 (item #5592-01) and the 23/64" (item #5592-02). The Arrow-Fix comes with the socket for 11/32". Answered on 9/15/2010 by Johnathan Karch from 3Rivers Archery
Q: can this tool be used to make footed shafting? Asked on 8/20/2010 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: Technically yes, you could do the arrow repair, but use a footing material as the replacement wood shafting. It wont look as nice or be as strong as the other methods used to foot an arrow, but it would work and hold up well to normal use. I have not footed an arrow this way though I should point out though. Answered on 8/23/2010 by Johnathan Karch from 3Rivers Archery A: Yes, it can. But when you use hardwoods, the supplied aluminum socket may not be adequate. For hardwood footings, there is a stainless steel socket available. Hardwoods feasible for footing, like laminated maple, hickory and ash work best, when the next size up shaft and socket is used. With some of the more fibrious hardwoods (ash) it is very difficult to feather out the cone to zero. The drill wants to grab the last fibre and destroy the top of the cone. If you use the next size up, let a very small part of excess wood stand, glue, then chuck nock end into drill and sand flush by running the drill and put sandpaper around it. When sanding down, wear a protective leather glove because of the heat. 60 or 80 grit works great. Tests have shown, that an arrow fix footing is actually stronger than a 4 wing footing. And even if it would break, you can put on a new one. A 4 wing footing tends to split the shaft and renders it completely unusable. Answered on 4/13/2012 by tecum-tha from Boonville,IN
