Q: I bought an old set of Graphlex XT Cougar arrows. They're spined for a 63 pound Recurve Bow & are stamped 18-8. I need new inserts, I thought maybe a GT insert would fit But it's too small. Answer this question 2 answers A: I think I was 17 when I tried graflex shafts. I believe they were 18-8's but I don't remember much about the details of their inside or outside diameters. What I do remember is that they stop manufacturing them abruptly because of lawsuits. Apparently, the shafts could be damaged internally but you couln't tell by looking at them. They would then explode "on the bow" the next time they were shot. It happened to me. I shot at a squirrel. The arrow ricocheted up through the branches of the tree and came down looking in good shape. On the next shot it blew into pieces. I was lucky to only have a few small splinters in my arm. Q: Hi..wanting to buy 2219 alum. inserts that show a threaded hole completely through the bottom end...is it threaded for the point or broadhead when fully screwed into insert or is it for weight to be added to the insert?? also what is the gr. weight of these 2219 alum. inserts? thanks... If not just get the aluminum inserts that are .2445 by 5/16", if you need tip weight go with the brass point inserts that are 5/16" by either 50 or 100gr. Answered on 12/11/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery A: use carbon express aluminum inserts (14gr) they will allow you the advantage to us screw in weights to the insert to custom your broad head weight. I shoot 250s and its hard to get the local shop to stock any broad heads over 125 gr. I use two 20 gr screw in weights to bring the weight to 54gr...14gr insert+40gr add on. 54gr and a 100 tip 154gr and my arrow flies great. your 150s shouldn't need any more than a 150 gr tip to make it fly well. if you us the add on weights you can play around with the front end weight. good luck Sent from Windows Mail Answered on 12/11/2012 by Anonymous A: I used the Gold Tip Accu-Lite point inserts with Insert Iron glue. Q: the thread dept in the insert is extreemly deep. they work fine with field points. When i install magnus stinger broadheads, the broadheads only catch about 2 threads in the insert before snugging up against the insert. is this normal or are the inserts improperly threaded? This is the third dozen i have purchased and all are the same. they work ok but would like to have broadhead catch more than 2 threads. using carbon express size .2445 Asked on 8/9/2011 by TJ from Edna,TX Know the answer?
