  • Q:

What size collar's would i require for a 400 and 320 spine ST Axis shaft without a wrap? Also would i be better using a 5/16 field point or sticking with a 9/32? Unsure if a lip is formed from the photo given the collar goes outside the shaft. Thanks.

      A:

There is only one way for them to go on the shaft. And yes the taper will go against the broad head.

      A:

If you have the correct size of carbon collar for the carbon shafts your using the collar will only slide on the end of the
shaft one way. Once it is started on the shaft push it against the edge of your work bench to completely seat the collar
on the shaft. Now you are ready to install the insert into the shaft.

Yes, we have tested the collars for these shafts. They fit well and will help to extend the life of the shafts.

Yes, nock and collar. They fit if that's your question. I can't tell the difference between arrows with and without them in paper tuning.

      A:

Absolutely! I recommend these Carbon Collars to all of my friend who shoot traditional, no matter what poundage or arrow spine. Eventually you WILL end up hitting a rock, metal, concrete, or other hard surface and these will save you a lot of money in arrows. They are smaller in diameter than the body on a Wensel Woodsman so they shouldn't limit penetration either, at least with those broadheads.....

The collars are not necessary, but they can be helpful. If you do a lot of stump shooting or small game hunting they can save you some money. The collars can also make it more difficult to remove your arrow from a target.

  • Q:

will these collars work with broadhoad adaptor rings or is it a similiar device and need to go with one or the other? thanks in advance

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

These collars would not work with broadhead adaptor rings. They are similar to the broadhead adaptor rings but go farther up the shaft and you would need to go with one or the other.

  • Q:

In order to put these on a Beman MFX Classic 600 do I still install the insert first since it uses the HIT inserts or do I install the collar first then the insert?
Asked on 10/30/2011 by Opie from Central Indiana

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

I recommend that you install the insert first and then the collar. You may want to glue the collar into place. A screw in point will hold it in there, but gluing it in will help it to hold better.
