      A:

The left wing indexer will have a L on the flat, the right wing will have an R and the straight will be blank with no mark on the flat of the indexer.

      A:

Not marked is a straight, "L" for left and "R" for right

  • Q:

    a) Can both R and L indexers be used for straight fletching?

    b) Is using the corresponding R or L indexer for the R or L clamp important to have a cocck feather facing away from the bow window?

    c) How does the orientation of the R or L parabolic feathers determine: front part (towards the point), rear part (towards the nock) or middle of the feather?

      A:

      a) Both the R and L indexers can be used for a straight fletch. The indexer will just change the offset of the feather.
      b) The indexer will give you the proper offset for the clamp. If you use the opposite indexer it will offset the feather to the opposite side. I have heard of this being done before but, I do not know how this would affect the performance of the arrow at all.
      c) They will follow the helical of the clamp. The different helicals are designed to cooperate with the natural twist of the feather.

  • Q:

Which if any of the indexers will place the odd vain up instead of to the side

      A:

None of the indexers allow that option. If you had a friction fit nock or a uni-bushing nock you could rotate it until the feather is in the desired position.
