Q: I would like to use this to throw target practice. Is there any problem with using this for that purpose? Are there target materials not suitable (i.e. wood). Thanks. Asked on 5/8/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: I would not recommend to use this spear for throwing. With it being socketed it will not hold up to hard impacts. This was designed to be thrust in to the target. Answered on 5/9/2011 by Art from 3Rivers Archery
Q: What arrows would this work on? Asked on 12/15/2010 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: The Socketed hunting spear head is not made to go on arrows. It is to be put on a long wood pole to be used as a spear. The inside diameter is 1 and 3/8". Answered on 12/30/2010 by Johnathan Karch from 3Rivers Archery A: This is not meant for arrows but for hunting spear making. I expect one could make a huge Ballista or Springonel Arrow with it though if one was going crazy with it. Answered on 3/6/2011 by Johan from Sweden

Q: Hey, I already have used the ColdSteel boar-spear that you sell on this site, and I'm just wondering if this spear has a more authentic socket. You know, more like an arrow socket then a shovel. Asked on 10/28/2010 by Mickey Rourke Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: Both the Cold Steel and the Socketed Spear head have the same style of mounting socket. Answered on 10/29/2010 by Shawn from 3Rivers Archery A: This spearhead has a solid cone socket made in the traditional way. Most cold steel heads are stamped and shaped from one piece which means they don't have a full socket, except for the Samburu. Answered on 3/6/2011 by Johan from Sweden
Q: Does the spear have sharp edges? Asked on 10/25/2010 by Joe from Ocala, Fl Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: No, the Socketed Hunting Spearhead is not sharp from the factory. Answered on 10/26/2010 by Johnathan Karch from 3Rivers Archery A: Mine didn't come with a sharp edge, but it did have a sharp tip. The edge is tempered and possible to sharpen though. This is a tool made for use and for the user to sharpen and hone to his/her own preference. Also, look at the pricetag. If it had been perfectly sharp you can expect it to cost twice as much or more. Just add a little elbow grease and it'll be a great spearhead. Have a look at my review. ;) Answered on 3/6/2011 by Johan from Sweden
Q: How much does the spear head weigh? Asked on 9/22/2010 by Elizabetta from Car MI Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: I weighed 5 different heads and they ranged from 12-15 ounces each. Different heads can have varied weights so I can not say what they are all suppose to be within but I hope this is of some help. Answered on 9/27/2010 by Johnathan Karch from 3Rivers Archery
Q: does this socketed spearhead fit standard handles, brooms, etc? Asked on 8/29/2010 by Mark from Michigan Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The socketed hunting spear head should fit on any shaft that has an outside diameter of 1 3/8". The shaft will need to be tapered to a snug fit though.
