Answer this question 1 answer A: Use Titebond 3 as the adhesive. You will need to soak the rawhide in room temperature water to make it more pliable. Q: I am going to back a hickory bow with rawhide purchased from 3rivers. The rawhide is stiff like a dog bone. I soaked it in warm water and it softened up nicely. I let it dry and it went stiff again. Will it be that stiff on the bow? Is it supposed to be or am i supposed to treat it somehow to keep it pliable? Asked on 9/14/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: You need to let soak in luke warm water to soften it up so that you can glue to the bow.
