Q: This glue is a no go for limb laminations due to hyprodermic creeps.. do a three hours boil test on wood glued up with titebond III and see what I mean.. It okay for risers, but not in limb laminations Asked on 2/22/2013 by Bohica from Missouri Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: You will want to use a two part epoxy to build your limbs. Answered on 2/25/2013 by Clint from 3Rivers Archery A: I have no idea to what you refer. I have used the glue for a sinew patch and it was great. I have heard that curing the glue in a hot box allows for a greater degree of hold during hotter weather and I really will never subject any bow laminations to a three hour boil - let's face it - I would not expect any bow of wood laminations to hold up, with that kind of abuse. a Answered on 2/22/2013 by Buckhorn73 from Ontario, Canada
Q: Gluing a bamboo backing to hickory, what is the correct procedure to follow? Asked on 10/22/2012 by kak from Sheppton, Pa. Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: You will want to apply glue to both the bow and the backing. Clamp or band the pieces together, and let dry. Answered on 10/22/2012 by Dave from 3Rivers Archery A: About two months ago İ have used the Titebond 3 to fix a delamination of a 68" longbow. The delamination of two layers of white wood (hickory ?) was starting at the lowest part of the bow grip going up for about 18" in total.İ forced the bow back to open wide the delamination, put a knife in to keep it wide open, to enable to glue the problematic place and filled the crack with Titebod. The knife still in the crack İ moved it all long the delaminated place to spread the glue till the edges and took the knife off.İ wiped off the overflew glue with a tissue and put the bow on the floor with a coffee table (weighting about 20 lbs) on it to make it pressed. (İt will be more convenient if you have the necessary pressing tools)İt waited there days without any touch, but İ believe 48 hours of stay in press and some additional 48 hours before string it will be enough.İ went to the field, stringed the bow (60 lbs), pulled - no problem- and shot. Everythig was fine. Second shot and s! o on, İ shoot every day at least 100 arrows/day and it is still all right. Hoping that this is clear and will be helpful.
