    are these shaft blanks like having a footed shaft? and could i use any wood i desire?

      A:

      These blanks are to make the cane or bamboos arrows more durable on the point end. you could make these yourself from any wood but it will require a lot of work to get the tenon to right size to fit into the shaft.

    what is the diameter of the shank; the part that fits into the arrow shaft?
    I need to drill out my arrrow shaft to receive the shank.

      The shank can vary but of the 6-pack that I measured with a mic was a range of .144"-.155".

      They are not perfectly round either, so I would not pre-drill the arrows before getting these. It will require you work with each shaft, and I recommend using some glue/epoxy.

      Yes, you can taper these shaft blanks to accept any glue-on point, broadhead or field point.
